Another week and another flight on the Lancaster After going a year without so much as a sniff I've had three trips in the last month. I'll post some piccies later, today was bloody brilliant. It was my first time with the fighters flying in formation plus something special for the Dambusters 70th Anniversary at the RAF Waddington Airshow.

Any good stories or pictures to share with your friends on THE THREAD Per?

No, sorry. Just an ordinary gaming/dinner happening together with some friends.

Drank a little too much though. Poured myself in through the front door at 5.30 am

Settlers of Cataan? You've said before that's one of your gaming staples. What other group board games do you guys play?

Did NW Georgia get much from you, or will they have to continue to steal y'all's water?

Sounds loverly. I don't suppose the weather cooperated and you had-you know-sunshine and clear skies for your flight?

Dixie, did you see the B-29 pics over here:

I hope I took enough cockpit pictures for you. It was a rush job to go through.

I did old boy, very nice they were too. I know she's a big kite by the standards of the day, but it's not until you get something to provide reference that you realise just how big those props are.

Did dropping my name help at all? I guess not!

It co-operated. Using the burst shot feature of the phone I took about 620 pictures in about an hour of flying.

Ah well, you see I'm not known as Dixie on BBMF so that would explain the confusion

We had one game of Settlers, yes.

Ran one game each of Le Havre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Havre_(board_game)) and Citadels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citadels_(card_game)) as well.

That's good because there's also this one.

I've also got one of the fighters curving in to join up. Hopefully I'll be able to get that one up in the next few days.

Hi all,

How is the visibility from the rear turret Martin?

IIRC the Lancaster rear gunners very often complained that visibility was poor (or perhaps this was due to high altitude flying and freezing of perplex)?

Leo "Apollo11"

Those were factors, but the visibilty was mainly **** because of all the ironmongery in the turret...
