Hi all,

Luckily after tomorrow I will go to vacation (Dubrovnik)... the only problem is that temperatures are still around +40 degrees Centigrade and coupled with scorching sun... Meteo office people say that big (temporary) change will happen tonight / tomorrow with temperatures dropping by 20 degrees centigrade...

That's a "regular" vacation spot for you, isn't it Leo? Enjoy, my Brother!

If Jeff would just stop sending all the rain he is getting my direction we might dry out also. It is like someone put a rope between central KS and central TN and the storms are just following it. Missouri is getting hit hard also.

You know, Leo, there are so many places in that wonderful world we call the Med. Your pic of Dubrovik reminds me much of the towns and harbors of South France and Italy. I have sailed often in the Med, and once in the Aegean. But never in the Adriatic. Dubrovnik is frikkin beautiful.

I'm one of those people that hates the Bauhaus paradigm. Has a place, but the place should be out of sight and put where econ assholes can get to them comfy. But has a price, The occupants are alone.

Real places for real people need to be just like they were. I love the red roof tiles; I love the whitewash; I love the closeness of one house to another; I love the absolute salsa of living next to your neighbors.. Been to a few places like that. Drank the local booze, tried to dance the local dances, just sucked it all in and appreciated it. It's places like that, that remind us of our human condition and heritage.

God love you all for putting Dubrovnik back into condition. I'm probably too old to visit, but young enough to understand what you did. May God keep you and hold you in His hand. Ciao. JWE

Welp, The Wargamer just put up my article on Tsushima. It's there, except it says it was published on 8/8... Weird...

Just read the article - very very nice!

We used to go to island of Korcula for the past few years (just 50+ km north of Dubrovnik) but we always visited Dubrovnik for at least one day... this time we will stay in Dubrovnik and visit other near-by places (including Korcula)...

Thanks John!

The old whitewash stone (centuries old) is really something to be seen and appreciated...
