Yes it was dark all winter , and light all summer. But it was generally dry, if cold. The two years I spent in Seattle I found much more depressing, as I didn't see the sun for months at a time , and it was always raining!  Agreed. It's cold, dry and beautiful. Picture below taken at mid day I could use a few weeks up there in a cabin with a fire going, a few bottles of scotch, a dog and a bunch of books and movies!
