Great. The home warranty covers problems with the garage door opener, but not the door itself. Spring wore out and broke.

Good morning all. The 'Frozen Four' begins today at 4:00. Go Sioux!

Pfft...

I don't think so, dude. What's NoDak's prize going to be for second place anyways? We'll let you look at the trophy from afar again this year.

Home warranties find all the 'loopholes' in their coverage, don't they? We had furnace problems shortly after moving in here that necessitated replacement of the cracked heating element after we moved in in 2008. Something about carbon monoxide something something blah blah asphyxiation yadda yadda . Anyways, we needed to repair it tootsweet. Home warranty covered replacement of the broken heating element but not a new furnace. Nor would we have been given monies towards a new furnace.

So we said "fine" and performed the repairs fully covered by the home warranty. We got another couple years out of the furnace at least.

Our garage door spring coil crapped out on us shortly after we moved. We replaced it. Then our garage door opener crapped less than a year later. So we had to replace it again. We just decided to replace the garage door itself at the same time as the opener so we could start from scratch.

Today started off pretty good, then, around 2:30 it went downhill.

I am involved in the Boy Scouts here locally. One of our Scoutmasters is a good friend of mine and his wife, daughter and son were traveling on the Interstate. They developed a flat tire and pulled more than one full lane off of the interstate in a wide spot under a bridge. The Son, 15 years old, started to change the tire. A 33 year old woman, who was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of the accident, side swiped their car, killing the boy instantly.

I grieve, severely, for this young man's family. They are such wonderful people and don't deserve this. I am saddened that some 33 year old woman, who should know better, felt it was important to be drunk and was driving under the influence and doing it at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Found these in an antique store today. Am totally not-knowledgeable about models so I have no idea if these are the slightest bit rare, unusual, or even out of date. Prices range from low teens to US$70+ (for the Bear and the Stormovik).

I thought that one stood out, too. I was surprised to see models of so many different P-40 marks. And a Russian I-16!

No surgery for a relatively minor injury like this. Time and physical therapy. Time horizon of up to six months.

Man, that hits home. Ping me if you can think of anything I or my troop can do. Stuff like this always scares me silly when my boy goes off to do things.
