Bring your Jack Russell's! My wife raised them for 20 years and we lost our last one about a year ago.

I have Springer Spaniels. Two houses down is "Rudy", a Jack Russell that's Beaudy's best friend in the whole world. Where one is found, so is the other. I really like Jack Russells and Beaudy the Wonder Dog agrees.

But then. Easter time is lamb time. But the only decent lamb available down here is a fresh leg and that’s maybe 7-8 lbs bone-in. But one can only have so much lamb roast, lamb kabobs, lamb stew, before they get bored. So what to do in the interim times between lamb left-overs?

How about Portuguese black beans? The lamb is usually in a yogurt/lemon juice base, but the beans are cooked with sweet onion, sweet peppers and cumin. An interresting juxtaposition of flavors. Traditionally, it’s cooked with linguisa and ham hocks, but you can dump the lamb bone in there and some ham and get pretty righteous. Gotta do it with Indian Basmati rice as a bed and with a garnish of greens sauteed in a balsamic vinaigrette. Woof !!

So then, lamb, lamb, beans, lamb, beans, lamb, beans, and then whatever’s left over before we hit the soft-shell crabs and another round of chicken teriyaki and veggie tempura.

Waiting for the Chilton County peaches to come in .. soon .. Ciao. JWE

Got some chores around the house on the to do list today, and then hope to take the boy out to start looking for an old pickup truck for him.

A Good Good Saturday tithe...

USS Mike-why doncha just let him drive that Boxster S? He looked content enough behind the wheel, I suspect that he'd "settle" for that.

Saturday tithe.

Sorry Shani, no new pics. It's been a while since my 'ol man sent me any.

Just reinstalled Silent Hunter 3 to have something to do while waiting for AE turns. Still, after all these years, an amazingly good and fun sub simulator.

He never did drive the Boxster, Andre. We sold it last weekend and bought a 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet. That's what he was getting ready to drive in the picture you saw, and that's Momma's car.

Well, doing Mr Kulich for Easter. Think the red mouse would like it. Tomorrow morning, there's the Easter Service and then the Priest does the blessing of the baskets. Everyone brings their kulich, pascha, eggs; and then the Easter Feast, where the church (congregation) provides the grilled lamb and everyone else brings something to go with. Last year, there was cucumbers in a Greek marinade, couscous, almond/cardomom pilaf, tomato/olive/feta salad, grilled spring yellow squash and zucchini, leeks and radicchio.

Well that turned out to be an eventual evening. Josh tripped over when we were walking the dog, luckily we were nearly home as he gave himself a nosebleed a cut lip and a fat lip as well as several scrapes and bruises and a bit of gravel rash on his lip. Poor wee guy wasn't too bad until he saw the blood, then it was screaming time Kids, eh?
