I got them Back To Work Blues

I'm feeling your pain as well. Back at work after 9 days off.

Dude...that sucks...

Kids are away to summer camp this week. Sleeping in late, catching up on old episodes of Firefly and Serenity, wasting time surfing the web, enjoying the quiet.

I've written them each letters which I'll put in the mail today. They should get them Thursday. But all that writing made my wrist tired. I think I'll take a nap.

A question: How do you make a cheesed-off Danish? Put it in the oven for about 4 days at 95F. That about right, T?

You could have been accompanying penguins by now... so... it is not that bad...

Take care Martin!

Morning tithe.

New deck going in, old tree going out, Jury duty tomorrow, and maybe, just maybe, Century Link will fix my home internet connection sometime this week.

Could be worse. I could be going with Martin to look at penguins

How big's your new deck, big guy? We've some wet rot going on on some of ours that will need replacement in a couple years. Hoping to sell the house before we put on a new deck though. I'd not be happy having to put $6-7k into a deck just to never be able to enjoy it...

Yanked out the old concrete slab. Sucker was 16 inches thick and was pulling the utility lines right off the side (hence my lack of internet at home). Replacing with a deck sidewalk around the house, and a 20x50 deck with a 2 step step-off & solar lighting. Cost is just a wee bit over budget

Inspector came by & said it was too big, and I would have to edge it with a concrete walk. I pointed to the HUGE chunks coming out & said who approved THAT so I know who to sue for damages to my home(his office did). He walked off saying he would have to talk to the city engineer. I told him to take his time, I have pictures when I purchased the place showing it was pre-existing, and all I was doing was repairing what had already been approved and was in place

They say you can't fight City Hall. Maybe not, but I sure am gonna embarrass them

Good morning from camp Craig in the Bixwell Scout Reservation! Day two of five making sure the boy leadership is not killing anyone and getting them to class and meals in time. Otherwise, study if the Scout Master MB will commence shortly by getting horizontal and catching some Zs!

I feel for you there buddy. I did jury duty last week. We all sat in the deliberating room for an hour and a half. The bailiff came in and said "Due to unforseen circumstances the trial is over. You are all excused".

You'd be going on your own! The neck/shoulder issue is keeping me away from the Falklands at the moment.

Chin up, old boy. Hope 'tis nothing too serious, neh?

Just extra ribs and mild arthritic development in the neck. I need an MRI/MRA scan to find out whether the rib is causing my symptoms and if so whether it's a nerve or circulatory problem. The doc has already mention the possibility of surgery to chop out my bonus right rib. Or the symptoms could be caused by something else. They could get better. Or worse. Or stay the same. In short, they don't really know. Still, bonus ribs are kinda cool. About 1 in 200 people is the going rate for an extra, usually just one (normally on the right). So having two ribs is giving Mrs Dixie ammunition for calling me a genetic freak. The preferred term is X-Man btw.

It'll pass, but the sore neck thing is making me grumpy (it's a new development since they told me I was actually broken, so probably more mental than a real issue) and I'm trying to avoid painkillers, because I CBA spending more time at the doctors just yet.

Just point to the rib from which Mrs. Dixie came. The extra rib(s) are future mistress's.

Cheer up, X-man. Now if only you could shoot fire out of your visor or somesuch. That would be particularly useful. Good on you for avoiding the painkillers as much as possible too.

How's the family doing, mate?

Good morning all. Sort of some knucklehead here changed a ME drawing file to a Mech. only file wiping out all electrical references. I hope I can retrieve the original file before I snuff out some ones life.
