I'm going to watch the 1966 war movie "What did you do in the War Daddy?". Never seen it before.

Anthropoid -that is a real act a gaming courage !

I'm currently watching "Soviet Storm; World War 2 in the East" - a doco series originally made for Russian TV. Its a bit Russian intense but it carries a lot of small detail. current episode spends an hour on the Crimean campaign alone.

Finishing up a series on Netflix called 'The Killing'. A Seattle based detective drama. I recommend it.

Watched a very tastefully done documentary on the Bradford City fire disaster of 1985 last night. What a sad, sad story. 56 football supporters went to watch a match (54 of them to see their team crowned as old Division 3 champions) and never came home.

The speed with which the blaze went from small localised fire in one section of the stand to major conflagration (4 minutes) that engulfed the whole stand was just unbelievable. Many great acts of heroism that day too. Had there been fencing up, the toll could have been unimaginable.

Begun watching The Americans on Netflix.

I was surprised how good the show is. I was just going to watch one episode before turning in. And then one more... and now I have watched almost the entire first season. I do not have time for this! I need to go to sleep. But one more episode before turning in will not make that much difference.

BBC's Shark

I am not a huge fan of nature programs generally but this series is simply incredible!

Extraordinary underwater photography, superb narration and, most importantly, amazing creatures!

- There is a shark that walks! When it is caught out at low tide it simply closes down its organs and walks back to the sea!

- A Camera team got in the sea - no cage - with a load of Great White Sharks. Bonkers you would think. But the team purposely picked out the biggest fish they could find (and thus one that would not be afraid of the humans) and then proceeded to film them literally a couple of feet away. They could tell when the lady shark had had enough and wanted her space back - she dipped her pectoral fins and slightly showed her teeth. That was the cue for the divers to make their leave!

- Some species of shark get their teeth cleaned by little fish they allow in their mouths to get at the food caught in their teeth. The shark slows down by tilting its whole body almost to the vertical and then invites the fish in.....

Amazing.

Very underrated. I have watched it 3 times over the last 8 years. Every time I view Hot Fuzz I find jokes I missed before.

I've been watching this. Cosmic journeys - the age of Hubble

Breathtaking really. Crystal clear quality in 4K. And mindboggling as well...I mean with statements such as; "the universe is to the observable universe as the observable universe is to the atom" I mean how *big* is that? LOL

Joan of Arc: God's Warrior.

Excellent documentary for those, like me, who knew nothing about this episode other than the highest level detail

Really enjoyed Peter Kay's Car Share!

I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but wants to. Suffice to say there is a touch of The Office and Tim and Dawn about it

Brilliant comedy
