Just saw Spectre. It was alright I suppose but not raving about it. Casino Royale remains the Bond film imo.

Now, remind me, who was in Casino Royale again?

David Niven and Peter Sellers. And Woody Allen?

Ah, the remake. I didn't care for it much.

No? Personally I think Eva Green is worth the price of admission on her own

I just finished watching Come and See.

The first time I watched Come and See is still etched in my mind.
Wow, it's hard to describe the feelings it caused... and they lasted
a long time too, not like with other movies.

Finally watched the entire film All the President's Men. I've missed the beginning two times before.

just finished watching these 2 classic BBC series - brilliant!!

you probably have to be very old to appreciate them as they are very slow paced, character driven and give a good focus to some of the secondary characters - the slow pace seems to be to allow you to follow the genius that is George Smiley as he goes after the Russian master spy Karla

You don't have to be old to enjoy these two outstanding series...

another very good (old) cold war spy thriller i am about to rewatch

Game, Set, and Match

its actually the first 3 of a series of 9 books - and i just had to buy the next 6 books to follow the story - Ian Holm gives a stunning performance as a stressed out spy

Oh, I have not seen that series, it sounds and looks great! We need to let them know they need to make more of "they don't make em like they used to"!

After putting it off forever, I finally watched Firefly to see what all the hype was about. It was definitely enjoyable, and now I know the source of several pop culture references I had been hearing for years. It's too bad that it doesn't end with any kind of conclusion, not even a cliff-hanger, just a regular episode that advances the overall story a bit.

The series does show it's age (made it 2003!), and obviously had a shoe-string budget, but that just adds to the charm. How can you not like a show where people dressed as WW2 soldiers, cowboys, Starship Troopers infantry, or just wearing a T-shirt and cargo pants, can all coexist. While using a smattering of six-shooters, AK47's and MP5's as weapons, all of which make *pew pew* laser sounds when fired.

The Brothers Grimsby. A lot of laugh out loud stuff - but someone should tell Cohen that some humour just isn't humour at all. He crossed the line a few times which spoilt what was otherwise a funny film. Isla Fisher looked lovelier than ever though

Dad's Army. A reasonable attempt by all here. Was always going to struggle to live up to the original but the cast was generally excellent and made the best of a so so script.

Spotlight. Following on from Philomena this excellent film really made me angry. Worth watching but the fact it is based on a true story is as shocking as it is sad.

Just watched the Xmas special of Downton Abbey.
And that was a very worthy goodbye to the show. I think I will say that was the ending anyone could possibly hope for
warspite1

Its being criticised in some quarters as too 'feel good' but I agree, I think it was an excellent way to end the show.

It was a real shame the show lost its way in series 4-5, but even then it was never less than watchable.

Just finished watching the last episode of Downton. Even though I wanted a 'feel good' final episode I found most of the final season a let down. A very weak season with few surprises. You could see the major events from far away and everything felt to 'sugar coated'.

Well I have watched the first two episodes of Victoria and I have to say it is eminently watchable. And I have to say that the actress playing the leading role is very good. Can't place her name but I'm sure I have seen her before.....

Just watched season two of Broadchurch.

I enjoyed season one immensely and season two, in comparison, was a let-down. If it was my decision I would consider cancelling the show rather than making a third series. A great series in season one has become mediocre in season two. And if the trend continues then not even a great David Tennant can save the show, no matter how Scottish his accent gets.

So much promise shown in episode one turned in such a disappointment by the last episode.

And then I begun watching the second season of Narcos that has just been released on Netflix.

And here is a show that, so far, continues to deliver. Especially the supporting cast. And it was so captivating that I watched 5 episodes in a row last night.

Yes, this was definitely a case of dining out on the success of the first series which was a shame. That said it was still watchable I thought.

What's next up? Ah yes - Cold Feet returns!! Looking forward to this. Although I can't remember what the hell happened last time - which was what 15 years ago?

It was indeed watchable. I was mostly annoyed because I thought they didn't have a story for so many episodes so they dragged it on. And the new suspects, and new murder story, I found it hard to be interested in.

----

I haven't seen 'Cold Feet' yet. Is it worth watching the original series?

Yes, from what I can remember it is definitely worth watching - a very good cast too. There are 5 series to catch-up on though!
