Weather has been bad so the couple turns have been relatively quiet.

Burma
Japanese are using Zeros to sweep the AVG out of the sky. Lost 3 a/c today. Will try to manage until the supply convoys from Calcutta unload in the next week. Hopefully will have enough P-40Es to pull them out and refit. Continuing to evac the BF from Victoria Point to Pt Blair with the DC-2 detachment from the Indian AF, but with the Japanese approaching will not be anywhere near complete. I do have the AV support which is good. . Continuing to consolidate elements of the the 1st Burma Division minus the 2nd Bde at Pegu as I rebuild the 13th Indian Bde and am railing the 1st Burma Bde down from Taung Gyi.

Malaya
Bombing of the 8th Indian Bde at Khota Bharu has started in earnest. Trying to evac it but looks like it may not get extracted in time as Japanese are moving overland with elements to Khota Baru. Large collection of TFs to include a slice of the KB moving from south of Soc Trang towards the Malay peninsula. The invasion force for Mersing is my guess. Vectoring subs to the area. Looks like the other slice of the KB is east of Saigon and will most likely decimate the AKs in the South China Sea fleeing from HK. Torpedo bombers still on ASW. Don't want them on the ground when the KB strikes.

DEI
Jap CVl/CVE w/ an invasion force moving towards Ambon, maybe even Kendari. Dutch fighter detachment at Ambon has only one damaged aircraft after the days attack attempts. Surface assets at Ambon will move to a hex where I suspect the CVL will place itself and then retire east into the line of thunderstorms east of Ambon. A US TF will make a full speed move to Ambon and retire east as well in anticipation of an invasion. The Houston and Boise will pay a visit to Manado from their hiding place at Ternate. Dutch TF to staged near Balikpapan and will refuel from there overnight. They have no endurance. Denpasar BF loaded and enroute to Cocos Island. Mataram BF and the Prajoda garrison loading for their trip to Koepang. The Barisan KNIL Regt loaded and being moved to Koepang, along with fuel and supply convoys.

India
Preparations for a potential invasion ongoing. 67 sqdn moved to Calcutta to train and prepare to eventually get equipped with Hurricanes.

Australia
Secured Fenton and Katherine, so when the Darwin invasion comes I have a secure retreat route. Continuing to evacuate garrison at Lae, with Salamua will be next. The CL Adelaide chased off the invasion force at Kavieng without any combat, bummer. Consolidated elements of two Australian Divisions at Sydney and Melbourne. Naval assets being routed to Townsville along with AOs to support forward Naval Ops. Small TF of a CA, CL and a DD headed into the Coral Sea.

The a/c count for the TF dropped, no to mention there are references to less CVs. Beleive the Japanese have split the KB and the TF east of Saigon is the othere CVs of the KB.
Also,

He has split the mini KB and they are all operating seperately. from near Ambon to the Southern Phillipines.

Japan has split its Carrier forces, and is covering every landing at the moment in the Philippines.. I will let Mike and Harvey fill you in on their areas..

Some AKs took a few torps off of the West Coast..

One is moving some Airacobra's to SoPac.

We have stripped all of the pilots off of the damaged ship that will more than likely sink..

Had some subs intercept some BBs west of Manila.. but nothing ever came of it...

Have some subs position west of Davao that SHOULD attack the carrier/landing force at Cotabato..

Moved all of my air units out Manila to some R & R... desperately needs some more fighters to come back online..

Burma
Japanese came visiting Rangoon again, despite the rain. Lost 7 in the air and 4 ops losses. Ouch. Still have most of the pilots (lost 1 or 2). Moving them to Magwe to recover then onto Calcutta to upgrade to P-40Es. Continuing to consolidate elements of the the 1st Burma Division minus the 2nd Bde. First convoy will be just short of Rangoon by the end of next turn. Not sure I can cover it too long. I have one squadron of the AVG that could cover for a day. We will see what the Japanese do.

Malaya
Continued bombing of Khota Bharu. The 8th has taken a beating because it is in strat mode, but should be well out of Khota Baru, leaving the SVF Bde to be the reaerguard. They won't last a turn. Consolidating forces at Malacca, Kuala Lampur and Johore Baru for now. Once some of the BDEs and Divs consolidate will draw back to Jahore Baru and Singapore. May have to accelerate withdraw if the Mersing invasion comes. Some of the units already in strat mode so it shouldn't be too hard to speed up. The Invasion TF with the KB moving from southwest of Soc Trang towards the Malay peninsula. Expect them to be close enough to hammer Singapore next turn. My guess is the target is Mersing. Will make no effort to attack the KB with poorly trained pilots and old aircraft, an absolute waste of forces for assuredly no gain. Dispersing all the aircraft to outlying fields in anticipation of the KB plus LBA nuke that is sure to come to Singapore. No need to expend the AF just now. TF Z is still hanging around in the north west Java Sea waiting for an opportunity. Expect to have to withdraw next turn when the KB comes into the western Java Sea. Moved TBs into Kuching as there is a Japanese invasion force in the area, may get lucky. Supply convoy at Singapore unloading, hope they don't get hammered as there is no cover with the dispersal of all the fighters. Supply convoys to Pt Blair and Sabang will arrive the turn after next.

DEI
Japanese moved onto Kendari and chased off the PT boats. Most of my forces in the area are out of reach to hit that TF at night except the Java and Tromp with 2 DDs near Makassar. They will attack at night in tandem with the PT boats. The Cls Durban and Dragon will setup for a run the next day. My 2 TFs near Gorong will link up with tankers to replenish south of Ambon. Both set to react and are within 6 hexes of Ambon. 6th KNIL regt loading on transports at Batavia for Oosthaven and onto Palembang. Padang BF loaded and on the way to Oosterhaven. Two small BFs, a garrison Bn and the 8th KNIL enroute to Koepang.

India
Preparations for a potential invasion ongoing. Exeter, Enterprise and Glasgow enroute to Oosthaven.

Australia
The CL Adelaide linking up with Pensacola in the Solomon Sea to try and maybe catch a small invasion force like the one at Madang at Lae or the Shortlands. Dispatched the Australia, Perth and a DD towards the Solomon Sea. Supply convoys for Horn Island and PM loading at Townsville.

My turn for logistics:

West Coast:

TF391 (The one that has lost two ships in two days to sub attacks) is merging with another Sydney bound TF for protection. This will do two things, more escorts, and a jog in its path so it isn't predictable. It is going to cost us 150 PP to bring back the HQ sqn at the 40th PS. This will have to be later when we can afford it.

Other TFs appear to be well on their way to their respective locations as planned.

Any new TFs leaving the west coast will need a minimal escort with the increased IJN submarine activity in the area. They will assemble and be ready to load, but will wait on escorts.

TF399 is set to go to Pago Pago with 2nd Marine Def Bn, just waiting on it to load. I has one DD for an escort.

Still have ready to transport at San Francisco:

To Tahiti: 110th Base Froce
To Pago Pago: 113th Base Force, 205th AA, 216th AA
To Chrismas Is: 206th AA

These are all small troop/cargo ratios and am waiting on some of the smaller xAPs to return to SF. Keeping the larger ones, especially the APA convertibles in port unless a large unit needs them.

Hawaii: Setup CS Resource haul from Hilo to PH with the Hoegh Merchant, routing it along the shallow waters along the islands. Should be safe.

China:
At 88,50 48th Corp is attacked by the full 116th Division with a DA, losses were 1262 China/155 IJA and a retreat. This is not unexpected. The 48th Corp is at 93 disruption with 16 fatigue. They are about 50% TOE. I will attempt to keep withdrawing them and let the 116th pursue them, keeping it occupied.

At 90,49 89th Corp is attacked by the 13th Ind.Mixed Brigade with a DA, losses were 502 China/0 IJA and a retreat. This is also not unexpected. The 89th Corp is at 40 disruption with 16 fatigue. They are exteremly damaged, and have no infantry squads left or even showing on their composition! Wait for this one to die and respawn but keeping the IJA tied up as much as possible.

I need to change some leaders in the Ichang attack force. Not sure if my partners will approve, so I am asking... while I wait, I am going to continue.

Forming up on a line from Chengchow to Sinyang with the small units in the fields between them. Don't expect to hold a concentrated attack, but a delaying action is sufficient.

Moving units from 11th Group Army towards India for use there. Will move reinforcements behind them to hold the Burma Road.

2nd Sdrn AVG moves to Chungking. Will see where the IJAAF is going to be active and try to hurt them where I can with it.

Partners have approved the expenditure of PPs, My strongest Corps at Ichang, 2nd, 68th, and 75th get my top genersls. Should help them perform better in the upcoming attack. 22 PPs expended. We have 250 available.

Russia: Nothing to do here.

Turn off to Allies for them to finish there part.

Took my sig block off as it really isn't appropriate for this game...

Combat report for 13 December.

Big surface action Kendari. Between the PT boats and the Dutch CLs, gave the Japanese a bloody nose sinking the CL Nagara, a couple PBs and a number of AK/AKLs! Stunted the Kendari invasion.

Couple of transports got torpedoed as Mike indicated above.

My subs in the South China Sea did not nothing but provide targets for Japanese ASW practice.

Japanese took Atimonan, Cotabato, San Fernando, and Khota Baru

We have the combat file back, I have run it, but the files are not with me. I will post the combat report if Jeff and Harvey do not by this afternoon. An outstanding day by one of our DDs.

Oops, forgot to take my sig off. I have to come up with another one for the allied side. Something like treetop64's C2.

Here is my significant changes for 15 Dec 41:

xAK that arrived at Cristibal sent to Balboa to link up with the other one there for transit to LA.

Checked on ASW capability in the Seattle/Vancouver area and set Naval searches for the search aircraft in the area to cover the potential submarine operational areas. Also, set a pair of Canadian KVs to sweep the approaches to this area with some reaction ability to extend their patrol capability and another three to supplement the ASW searches.

Set some YPs at San Francisco to patrol just SF with a three hex reaction range to pounce on any subs that try to get within three of SF. This along with the air searches should keep the subs at bay, for now.

VMF-121 is assigned to a restricted HQ, set it to train 100, range 0, escort.

30th BG/27th BS moved from Mojave to March Field, set to train 100, range 0, airfield. Added replacement pilots up to capacity. Nothing to strip as they are already at replacement level of training.

Merged TF with two loaded TKs at LA into TF377, also picked up the Hatfield (Clemson DD) as an escort from TF396 and two other short ranged TKs and the Brazos from LA for a total capacity of 41,825. This will be a CS TF for fuel to PH on a recurring basis for now. It is 120 hexes round trip with speed three, so a 40 day round trip. This will bring 31k of fuel to PH a month. Not enough, but sufficient for now. Will need to put more short ranged TKs in there in the future and reassign the AO to refueling duties when there are sufficient resources to support such an operation, so for now, she is just going to move fuel instead of collecting dust in port.

TF396 has arrived in LA and is loading fuel for transport to Sydney. This TF has one Clemson DD, the Gilmer, and will pick up one more long range TKs from LA load up 57k of fuel and head out to Sydney. This is a speed four convoy and should make the round trip in 90 days. This is 19k fuel for Australia a month, again, not enough, but a beginning. It will have to be watched as it can't make the round trip on one load of fuel.

In the next couple of days another supply convoy will assemble for the long trip to Sydney.

Nothing to do in China or Russia. Waiting on units to get in position. It should be noted that the shock attack at Ichang was due to a unit moving across the river into Ichang. Should have moved it into the forest NW then into Ichang. 4k casualties hurt.

My part is done, turn off to my allies. Hmmm... Seems my turn and Harvey saying he is working on his has crossed paths. I have a log of everything I have done and have told him to just continue and I will redo mine.

EDITS made on this post after my allies finished their turns.

Burma
Converged 5 convoys to arrive Rangoon at the same time the night of 14 December. Weather is good, so have reassigned the last AVG group at Toungoo to the 221st RAF and transferred them to Rangoon to cover the convoys. The 2nd AVG is still repairing at Magwe prior to transferring to Calcutta to get P-40Es. Lost Victoria point and am now air transferring the Tenerassim Bn at Mergui to Port Blair.

Malaya
The Mersing invasion is well underway. I considered transferring my AF back to Singapore for a strike at the split KB, but still believe I would lose most of my air force and achieve nothing given the total advantage in aircraft and pilot quality. 30 Zeros in CAP will kill all comers at this stage. Will bide my time and look for an opportunity later. Started full scale evac to Jahore Baru and to Singapore. Singapore is at fort 2. Can maybe get 600 AV or so there. Had a nice chance at the Shokaku, but the torpedoes did not detonate. It was a Dutch sub too. Damn.

DEI
Japanese moved onto Kendari again. My TF with 2 Brit CLs did not react !? But the DD Parrot did and did OK. Japanese BBs are off Ambon for an anticipated bombardment, so evaced aircraft to Koepang. A CVL is heading this way, which will cause some difficulty in staging surface action groups.

India
Nothing significant to report.

Australia
The CL Adelaide, CA Pensacola linked up with the CA Australia, CL Perth and a DD in the Solomon Sea.

Burma
Convoys arrived in Rangoon and unloaded without molestation the first turn. We will see if that lasts a second turn. 2nd AVG still recovering in Magwe before moving to Calcutta for upgrade to P-40Es. Consolidating the 1st Burma Div at Pegu. Should be rebuild in the next turn or two. Supply convoys also arrived Sabang and Pt Blair the same time as the Rangoon convoys.

Malaya
The Japanese kicked the Aussies out of Mersing. No surprise. We will see how much AV gets into Singers before the Japs close the door. Setting up for alternate ops at Kuala Lumpur as a secondary center of gravity in the Malay peninsula. A/C still dispersed until the KB vacates.

DEI
Japanese moved onto Kendari in force. the CA Haguro put a hurting on the Brit Surface Action Group (SAG) I sent there overnight, sinking the valiant Parrot and damaging the Dragon enough to send to her heading back to Soerbaja for repair. Will have to be patient since he has brought more and bigger ships as well as 2 CVLs entering the Ceram Sea. SAGs without air cover are targets. Koepang has been reinforced with ground forces (Barisan KNIL regt, Pajoda Garrison, and 2 other BFs), supplies and fuel. Western DEI the section of the KB that split did not go south, but the evacuation of Batavia is near complete. Task force Z is headed to Soerbaja, but with Jap CVLs entering the Banda Sea, it will be converging LBA that will have to be the answer. Moving more forces to Oosthaven for further movement to Palembang.

India
Nothing significant to report.

Australia
SAG with CL Adelaide, CA Pensacola, CA Australia, CL Perth and a DD in the Solomon Sea loitering lookiong for opportunites. Hudsons now at PM to strike at forces in Madang.

Logistical side complete, minor adjustments, allocation of new assets, Nothing going on in Russia, very little going on in China that needs any attention at this time. New convoy forming at LA for a supply run to Sydney, also a new one at Seattle for a supply run to Dutch Harbor. Re routed a TK heading to San Fran to LA for use there. I was given permission to use the 8 Sims class DDs we got this turn for convoy duty. They have longer legs than the Clemsons and I will be releasing those back to combat duty as soon as I am able to.
