So who is on first?

Ok, so we can turn this into Jaws the movie (guys sitting around table showing each other their scars).

I had to play my first wargames on cassette.

So it's on topic, please fix the withdrawal bug Matrix and team.

"Sharks eyes, like a dolls eyes, black and lifeless"

ok, ok, back on topic.

Who's the official mod here anyway, obsolete?
I saw that someone mentioned this thread to him over at slitherine.
they can't ignore us forever, can they?

maybe when were done here we should go hang out in the combined arms forum.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

If they ban us or kick us off, there are other ways to complain, and the beat goes on. We haven't done anything but ask for support for known bugs, and Matrix ignores us? What the heck did we do to deserve this kind of treatment.

So we keep posting, and I ain't gonna stop. Matrix told me to post game related questions here. I'm doing that, and now they won't tell us anything. Bizarre!

I can't recall any of us being rude or impolite through this whole fiasco.

So Bud, Wolfe, Max, PJ, Joe, et al, keep posting in the general forum please, and I will keep posting here.

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck Joe discoverd that I don't know about. I HATE surprises. Especially when I suck at wargames anyway. Lousy Allies are going to have breakfast in Palermo, and I'm gonna be drinking seawater tonic.

I read that Erik is having a family emergency. So this could be one reason for the silence. But that does not excuse the developer, or forum moderator.

Isn't it kinda ironic someone named "obsolete" doesn't show up anymore and can't fix the game? Has he become....obsolete?

Max, very funny.

Well Slitherine responded in the general forum. That's the first "official" that aknowledged we existed. I'm gonna put Iain on my Christmas list, if he gets something done.

That was me, just a gentle prod to try and get his attention, obviously I should have used an electric cattle prod instead.

And now following on from the CCME Book Club is a recommendation for the CCME Board Wargaming fraternity

Even given the title it does have a DR results on the CRT and thus steps ahead of CCME by allowing withdrawal / retreat as a result of combat.

P.S. it is also a very good game.

Iain seems to be more active in posts for the Slitherine games. I know they are one with Matrix games but they do seem to care about the games they have for the most part.

I don't guess they is a way to edit the scenario with the editor to help with the withdraw bug?

I don't think it's a scenario problem. JMass would have picked something like that up.

PJ, it's in the Matrix General Forum.

I wonder whatever happened to the guy who was doing the WWI stuff? He seemed to have put a lot of work into it.

Probably abducted by aliens, who don't want the withdrawal bug fixed.

Yep, Joe, hopefully by Christmas.

It's beginning to feel like a conspiracy to ignore us, with cliches to pacify us.

Almost to 1700. I can feel 2000 close by. 2500 for another star, and by jove I think I will get there real soon.

This situation is so ridiculous, that it's reaching the point of being funny in a macabre sort of way.

My post for the day, but I may kick it up to two or three, just to get that star. I ain't quittin, I don't care how tedious this gets.

I will now withdraw from the thread ...

Oh no can't withdraw, looks like I'm here with the rest of you until we get a patch.

I stumbled across another feature of the game.

Many scenarios are set in the western desert. Many of these have wadi hex sides. In most cases it is impossible to cross a wadi hex side.

Place an engineering unit adjacent to a wadi hex side, place it into defence posture then on the following turn he can lay a bridge across the wadi.

Presto! The advance can continue.

Hi Joe

Good spot - I'd thought that you should have a way to get through the wadi hexes but didn't look too closely

It's not a bug is it

Yep making my daily posts heading for 1800.

Fix the bugs please, we enjoy the game, and would like "some" support or an answer as to why it can't be fixed.

Posting in the CC or general forum is having no apparent effect. Is it worth highligting this issue outside the Matrix/Slitherine forum? Perhaps in the Wargamer forums?

Well nothing can hurt. The only thing they can do is ignore us, and that eventually gets pretty embarassing for "them."

We haven't been rude in our requests that I have noticed, only persistent, funny, but never disrespectful. The gamers here are just looking for a response good or bad.

I will state the obvious, how hard is it for the developer to pop in 1 x per month, and say. I'm working on it stay tuned, or I can't fix it, game over, move on.

I LIKE the game. I personally feel it's worth fixing. It's simple to learn, but complex. If it were redone today, in modern graphics, it would be considered as great as Unity of Command. It has a whole bunch more scnearios than most games come with.

Fix the withdrawal bug, and see if they can track down the occassional game freeze. The withdrawal bug is the number one problem keeping people from playing.

I ain't quitting, we have been polite, I opened a support ticket, and they told me situation resolved ask all game related questions in the game forum. SO HERE I AM, FIX THE BUG, or tell me it can't be fixed, but tell me something pretty please.

You have Tim Coakley, Obsolete, and Michael Cooney, and one would think that one of them could kindly tell us something about the state of the game.

Sheesh, you get a game with a "small" problem according to them, and a game you really, really like, and no support. Ain't it just our luck.

You ought to buy the game just to check out the editor. It's one of the best I have personally seen. I'm sure JMass might argue about that with his experience, but it sure looks nice to me, and I'm not good at this stuff.

But I do know what I am good at. Keeping this thread going until someone official replies. With the help of the Combat Command Matrix Edition Lost Company.

We are all going to have 5 stars by the time this is over, and everyone going to be saluting us.

It is a cool game. It's much easier to learn than WitE for sure. The editor is really cool. Pretty simple to use compared to other games. I like the simple graphics of the game. It's easy to get into and play yet deep too. The withdraw bug is a killer and that's really too bad. Haven't had this much fun in a game for a long time until the withdraw bug. Did mention the withdraw bug? Oh yeah....I think I did mention the withdraw bug
