actually the book is better than the TV series - a lot darker and less played for knowing laughs

I have very fond memories of reading his books during my teenage years.

I kind of guessed that it was some sort of F1 magazine. Or book? It is just that I have no idea what happened in the F1 that year. My interest in F1 ended 11 September 1978. Your enthusiasm has, however, slightly increased my attention for current F1 events.

Status: offline 		There have always been, and will always be, freak results in sport. Piquet winning his third World Championship, by definition, should not be considered a freak result. Then you look at the individual races and remind yourself just how BAD he was that year. In the best car he didn't actually win a race (he crossed the line first three times - all courtesy of others hitting trouble). Remember in F1 if you are half a second slower than your teammate you are toast. Well Nigel out-qualified him, sometimes by almost 2 seconds!!! He was so bad he was rated 5th best driver that season.... Any why did he win the title? Because his car didn't breakdown, while poor Nigel's did...frequently....while in the lead....

I have another book, about the Soviet '44 offensive in Karelia, in queue for reading. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be available in English.

But I will keep your recommendation in mind for next time I shop for books.

I have but tinkered yet with The Blitzkrieg Legend, but if the topic (and OCS games) interests you at all it is a must buy. Quite tough on Germans, who are only coming to grips with Blitzkrieg, against quality Allied forces who are cumbersome to move around.

Status: offline 		I'm reading "Over The Top; Alternate Histories of the First World War" edited by Peter Tsouras and Spencer Jones. A series of short stories by several authors on "what ifs" from WWI. Got it cheap for the Kindle at Amazon so figured why not. First story was most intriguing involving the Germans abandoning Schleiffen and going with an actual plan they had exercised with up until 1913 that involved 3 armies holding off the French and one reserve one building in Germany with everyone else going after the Russians. Often wondered myself if that would have worhed. No invasion of Belgium so no Britain in the war and so on. Think I paid a $1.99 for it on the Kindle

The Remains of Company D: A Story of the Great War
(James Carl Nelson)

It's "excellent" in my opinion, and is packed full of true accounts from veterans' letters and first- & second-hand accounts. It has really presented for me the experience of being under bombardment and machinegun fire 24 hours a day for days straight.

I own Beyond The Rhine and The Mighty Endeavor, but none of the other titles.
