Avadon Black Fortress
Avernum Escape from the Pit
Strike Fighters 2 merged (flying around Iceland, for shear fun this is my favourite jet sim)
Crusader Kings 2 (doing OK as ruler of Hungary, my second king and about 30 years in)

Having a break from Wargaming. Burn out. Nothing out or on the immediate horizon has me biting at the bit. Panther East front game and CM east front is what I'm waiting for, until then I'm drowning in apathy.For a change I have been drawn to the Ancients and Field of Glory has me interested, but I hear the AI is very poor.

I feel you, Wodin.

I keep bashing my head against the wall with CO:BftB/HttR, but nothing works. Seems to me sometimes they make these games so historically accurate they're already foregone conclusions.

On the other hand I'd be bitching if they weren't accurate, so . . . a Catch-22, I suppose. As mostly a German FB it's discouraging sometimes.

I've had my last try at CO:BftB/HttR for a while. I'm so p***ed off right now I can't see straight. I am so ti red of forces being invincible for the AI but when you use them as the human they're worse than raw recruits. Or bridges being routinely blown for the AI but you can't get one to blow as the Human.



I understand the need for some AI advantage but come on!

Wasteland. It's becoming one of my favourite cRPG.

People shouldn't ask themselves why schools get shoot up.
They should ask themselves why people who finish schools burned out due to mobbing aren't receiving high enough compensations to not seek vengeance.

As far as I'm aware the AI doesn't cheat in the Panther Games series.

Well.

If that's the case I"m feeling very foolish right now.

I thought the AI cheated somewhat in most games to compensate for a human being "smarter".

I'm back on my heels right now. That blows me away.

Competent but not spectacular. The attacking AI 'gets the job done' but it is usually fairly costly and slow. I can usually accomplish more, in less time and with fewer casualties (the last is usually my main focus, as it allows more to be accomplished in subsequent operations too).

OTOH I sometimes get distracted with force on force actions, and neglect the victory objectives ~ while the AI is always playing for terrain. He sometimes still gets a draw or minor victory, despite my handing his arse to him on a plate.

I like the sound of the mechanics but no dismounted Infantry means no buy from me. If he does another game that covers a conflict I'm into and has dismounted Inf I'm in.
