Status: offline 		here's the latest tracker screenshot, unfortunately not all turns fitted onto the screen but you can clearly see how fast my total supplies in China grew. And this can't be from China producing supply as there are days with several thousands of supplies being added and exactly at these days supply in Burma went down. Not to forget, my troops are building forts nearly everywhere so probably tens of thousand tons of supply spent during these two months that fitted onto the screen. In 8 weeks my total supply was doubled even though I was building forts. As soon as Burma was given up, supply only went down.

Status: offline 		I agree that supply flows into China from Burma, but it takes time. I think the chart you show illustrates that most of the time it's a couple of thousand per day, although I do see a few times where it jumped, which I presume is the weekly long-distance supply pull.

Looking at your numbers:

61 - 5 = 56 turns

220,763 - 109,145 = 111,618 (Most likely more than that got moved, but it's the only figure we have.)

111,618 / 56 = 1,993 supply per turn increase

How much would China's supply have gone down without the Burma infusion would also have to be added to those figures to get a real answer on how much moved, but at least this figure is useful. A couple of thousand a day doesn't sound too bad to me. What do you think?

That was true in WITP, but in AE there is no Zero Bonus.

As Burma is gone where we are in the game already and forts are still being built, I am losing roughly 1000 supplies per day. There is no fighting at all, so it's only supplying the troops and building forts. If you add in supply production in China, I think we are at around 3000 supplies per day flowing to China as long as you dump enough into Rangoon.

Without that supply, I can't see much hope if someone has to defend China against a determined IJ player, hence why it is pretty high on my priority list right at the start of the game. Now if we ask the question if 3000 supplies on average should flow from Burma to China, that's another question.

we had to defend Rangoon today as our convoy was still unloading and I want to bring in as many supplies as possible as China's stocks have to be sufficient to last for a year or so when we can think about retaking Burma...

CA Maya is succesfully attacked again as she is still sitting at Balikpapan... she takes another 45cm torpedo from a Dutch sub after running on a mine and being torpedoed earlier... been heavily damaged already I guess that additional torp will do her in... I asked CF why he kept her at Balikpapan after she ran into the mine when it would have surely been possible to bring her back to a safe port with calculated risk and CF told me he wanted to disband her in Balikpapan's port but the invasion didn't go as planned and was then followed by the two succesful sub attacks...

Status: offline 		today's airlosses show a clear victory of AVG and the Hurricanes vs the Zeroes over Rangoon. The Buffalos just suffered as usual, no matter what altitude you set them. The kill ratio would be clearly different if CF would have set his fighters to carry out a ceiling sweep as altitude is nearly everything that matters and in this case would turn a clear defeat into a clear victory for the Zeroes. As always, I am not sure it should be that much of a factor. A big factor yes, but the all deciding one? That way you just can't keep ppl from going off realistic use of their pixel pilots.

as you can see, there is just no hope for the Japanese to achieve anything with the troops that are sieging Clark Field at the moment... either he turns this into a POW camp or he has to bring in massive reinforcements as soon as Singapore is taken but this will still take weeks with the enemy not even started the siege there... I am aiming at bringing our base av to 2400 as I have two PB5Y squadrons flying in all those cut off units from the surrounding islands and I have been doing so since day one of the war...

yeah, it just depends on how many you bring though. Or you have a navbombardment or some airattacks which easily trash any adjusted av of the defenders. Against those small garissons this works quite well usually.

I wonder why the enemy sends such a force to bombard Ambon, his recon should have told him that I evacuated the base, only the static CD unit is left... considering how many subs I've got in the area this is quite a dangerous task but Cuttlefish might not be fully aware about so many of my subs patrolling the area... with the damage done by my subs so far he should really think about them as a real threat though... Haruna is alone because we have hit (and probably sunk) Kongo earlier already...

we had to defend Rangoon also today as our convoys were still unloading... after yesterday's losses I hoped Cuttlefish would not attack again today but it's the best he can do... the more pressure he puts on my fighter force now, the easier it will be for him as my pilots will only get better and better and are still far form where I want to have them... again it's a pretty even fight above Rangoon...

needless to say my H81-A3 and Hurricane replacements and stocks are nearly none existant so killing two dozen of them in a couple of days would be something I would feel for weeks... but we have to defend the convoys even though it seems Cuttlefish hasn't ordered any nav strikes the last days... IMO not that a good idea as he should keep me from bringing supply to Burma at all cost and a dedicated air campaign against Rangoon could stop my supply operations within a couple of days pretty much forever...

I am not sure but it seems Cuttlefish is moving KB around on the map without having a real plan what to do with it... not really closely covering his major operations, not penetrating deep into my areas...

I didn't like to but had to keep my fighters at Rangoon for another day as I just awaited to see dozens of Betty/Nells showing up but instead the enemy sent Zeroes this turn instead of Oscars... only nine show up first, getting the never ending dive and even while being 1:7 outnumbered they shoot down halve a dozen of my fighters for not a single loss... I love the altitude advantage and the dive...

then the main part of the sweep shows up inflicting horrible losses within our fighters... we lose over 30 fighters today, including a dozen of our best pilots for not even a dozen Zeroes shot down... this has really really hurt... only the Hurricanes performed well, scoring a positive kill rate, no wonder, they have been higher than the Zeroes... altitude wins over everything it seems...

no nav attacks on my shipping at Rangoon so I could have long ordered my fighters back to Calcutta but as soon as they would retreat I am sure the Betties would show up...

Status: offline 		Cuttlefish, for an experience player, has been very sloppy with his ships so far. Not a disaster for him but the Japanese player just can't do this. If you did sink Chyoda then that is a CVL sunk for the future as well. It just really did not need to happen. Of course one can argue that if his kates hit your carries with a torpedo or two then it would have been worth it as KB could have ran you down. But, that is a risky gamble and as Japan you don't need to gamble in 42.

He should have expected a big minefield as well. He has enough AMs to send in with his invasions. Sloppy.

You are losing a lot of AKLs. These are incredibly valuable ships for the Allies until the LSTs start to flood onto the map.

but then KXI attacks a heavy cruiser and two torps slam into the side of the fearsome ship... another heavy cruiser is hit and heavily damaged, the IJN CA really take a beating in this campaign... the next big port is Saigon and if the ship got a chance to make it has to be sent there so all subs that manage to get into the area within a couple of days are ordered to hunt Suzuya down... this is one of those times when I think this could have been avoided because I have no clue why this enemy SAG was in that position as there is no invasion convoy around, he hasn't spotted any of my shipping (there is none in the area) nor does he seem to be up for a bombardment...

so far he could have avoided both the loss of his heavy cruisers in the Solomons and the disaster South of Balikpapan if he would have had KB close by which is IMO one of the main purposes for KB... ok, he would not have avoided my sub attacks but as you say, with some minesweepers going to Balikpapan first, his CA and BB would not have hit a mine(s) and our sub attacks perhaps wouldn't have happened at all or would not have done as much accumulated damage. The chance to see those two CVL score against my two USN CV (with two VMF squadrons as reinforcements) was there, while it wasn't big of course and I would always pick up such a fight. The CVL strike being that small was a surprise though.

Those xAKL I have lost were all starting in the SRA and they are all write offs with every ship getting out being a bonus. I don't have much use for the xAKL and never had, main reason for this is their awfully slow speed. A small xAK goes 50% faster and has more range so the xAKL really are of limited use for me. They can be used of course and I hate shipping losses, no matter if PT, xAKL or CV but it's no biggy for me if those xAKL running the SRA are going down.

Status: offline 		Well, the window of opportunity is only 1942 but the AKL can resupply low level ports much faster the the AKs which many times can't dock and fills the gap until you get barges and LSTs in 1943. Plus when alone they are sometimes missed or ignored by enemy air when slipping supply into an isolated garrison. Once you get the LST (most valuable Allied ship ever!) they do not matter.

after Suzuya was torpedoed West of Borneo we expected Cuttlefish to move his damaged cruiser back to Saigon as this would be the best choice for immediate repairs and so we have ordered all available subs in the area to hunt Suzuya down with KXIII succesfully attacking the cruiser today... absolutely surprising and not to understand for me, Cuttlefish only had a single destroyer as escort for the damaged cruisers and he took the straight way to Saigon... using a waypoint to move a straight line outside the direct approach to Saigon would have meant all my subs would be wrongly positioned... I asked CF why he only uses a single escort for a damaged cruiser and he replied that he had ASW TFs in the lead that just passed over my sub doing nothing... IMO, I would keep all my escorts in the TF with the damaged ship... guess Suzuya isn't sunk yet but in sure trouble and my subs will patrol North of the position she was attacked today...

I really love hitting enemy heavy cruisers...

this is the third time we succesfully attack Suzuya and now she is sunk for sure after three more torps slam into the heavily damaged ships... if you look at the screenshot you will see that Cuttlefish still kept her moving in a straight line towards Saigon and what you can also see are two TFs following her and I am pretty sure, these are the ASW TFs CF was speaking about... boy, looks like he has done more than one mistakes here... not enough escorts in the escort TF of Suzuya, moving her on a path that can be easily guessed and having the ASW TFs following the escort TF instead of the other way around... that way it has been really easy to hunt Suzuya down and sink her, to easy for my taste to be honest... there were several subs more North of this position and the way CF tried to bring Suzuya into a safe port just had to lead to the loss of the heavy cruiser even though the ship had more than a fair chance to be saved after the first sub attack off Borneo...

I have said it many times in the past years but usually have been mowed down and always smiled when for example AndyMac said he suffers from those supply caps as I have never experienced them. I guess if I dump 200,000 supplies in Rangoon, 150,000 end up in China, the rest flowed back to India. Perhaps it was less but it sure came from Burma.

The game is weeks ahead the AAR, when I gave up Rangoon, I had 220,000 supplies stored in China which is 160,000 more than what I started with. Guess it took me something like 6-8 weeks to do so, but it doesn't take that long to see the supply going from Burma to China, what takes longer is bringing the supply from India to Burma with loading and unloading.

Did it flow by itself, or did you do something?
