Congratulations England on winning the group. Well deserved.

Especially with that Ukrainian goal not seen by the referee.

It was offside. Deal with it.

The only thing England has going for them (and I admit - it's a biggy) is that they can put the ball in the back of the net. That's what it is all about. Beautiful football, loads of possesion, and heaps of pressure get you nowhere if you cannot score.

Yes, that's why Spain are the current World & European Champions

Because you must necessarily be thinking about Spain, as she is the *only* team that plays that sort of football... But after all they score. And they would be scoring much more if all the teams were N O T parking the bus (aka admitting they are weaker) when playing them (as in the WC)...

This kind of football is fabulous. Nothing is free: you keep the ball and try to get to the goal. The other option? Long ball that is intercepted by the defenders 9 out of 10 times... In other words, you are literally giving the ball to your opponent. Now that's exciting

And above all, this is by far the best defence as the opponent cannot even smell the ball, as they are chasing ghosts. Keep running and catch me if you can...

Dear all, final reminder to get your Q/F scores in before the Thursday kick-off.

You are predicting score at 90 or 120 minutes (if extra time is required) - so a draw is possible.

Czech Rep vs Portugal

Germany vs Greece

Spain vs France

England vs Italy

Mmmm. I will have to consult my spiritual adviser – the Dally Llama – for guidance.

What's with the stupid snide comments?

All comments about Poland by the English have been positive, but you can't help yourself can you?

Let me make clear - THE "GOAL" was offside so should not have counted anyway. In addition, even had it counted, we would still have finished top of the group

If it was offside why didn't the referee stopped the action?
Seems that he was completely blind.

Warspite, I'm not commenting English, I'm commenting referee.
And Poland sucks anyway, but they couldn't done better.

The linesman missed the offside and then, to compound the error, one of the officials, literally standing about 5 yards from where the ball crossed the line - and in line with the goalline - missed the fact the ball completely crossed said line.

As has been commented before, the extra officials have proven completely worthless in this tournament...

I agree. Let's face it, we're England - it's going to be tough whoever we play, and our record against the "big boys" in tournament football is pretty dire. On balance of course you would prefer Italy to Spain, but that does not mean Italy should be treated with anything other than the utmost respect.

Let's just hope we don't embarrass ourselves.

Not quite sure that England can play any worse than against the Germans in the 2010 WC.

Wait!!! They didn't play they just watched the Germans pass the ball around the field.

Will post my results this evening.

Well with a night off from the Euro's its back to matters domestic. Latest hot rumour is that Andre Villas-Boas is going to be offered the Spurs job.

You know how David Icke and other nutters believe that the world is controlled by lizards? Well I think that theory is starting to sound very plausible...

May the best team win, hoping it will be the team with the 3 Lions. Crossing my fingers, not an easy feat whilst typing away on my keyboard.

I really don't care about who wins... as long as the team with the über egomaniacal primadonna (Ronaldo that is) is trashed. Unfair, I know (the other players and the fans), but I just can't help it. I hate this arrogant guy. Period

Free advice to Czech fans: just yell *Messi* during the whole match and you will make it. Guaranteed

I'm not too sure - England vs Algeria was pretty special (even by our standards) - and given the level of competition we had even less excuse to be toilet in that earlier match

No offense taken and no apology needed matey.

It just got a bit tiresome with all the Brit basher's on the interwubs making a meal of the goal that wasn't last night. Not referring to anyone on this board btw.
