AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Jan 24-26, 42 Hi guys, sorry for the delay... Three more days have passed...and things have been a bit up and down for us... Ok, let's make a bit of summary: Burma: We spotted a hole into his defences. Pegu has been held for the passed 2 weeks only by a tiny Bn....800 men.... i decided to try my luck and ordered a general offensive to break through Burma.... i sent several bombers, along with sweeps and LRCAP to demolish that Bn... then sent in my paras...fully prepped.... no luck...right on that turn he moved in a Gurka Bde (bad luck, com'on!!!) and my para assault has failed...now we'll have to open our way in the old way: with brute force. Malaya: still struggling with the overstacking...i'm moving everything back except 4 divsions and 5 artillery units. Burnt so many supplies i'm almost cryin.... but we soldier on! in 2 days we'll start moving towards Singapore, while the rest of my Army will regroup and get ready to follow up. DEI: The ambon invasion didn't go as expected. Despite the landings went pretty well, thanks to the two BBs in support, my 3 SNLF units weren't enough to take the base. Now i've landed another full regiment of the 16th Army and, with the help of the bombers based at Menado, we'll try a shock attack tomorrow. nearly 300 AVs against 38....com'on!!!! He keeps on moving Cruisers and DDs between Christams OI and Java.... don't know what he's up to here...my defences at Palembang are pretty strong, with 100 fighters based there and a strong SCTF, composed of 2 CAs, 2 CLs and 10 DDs.... on the 25th he sent 30 ducth bombers at 1000 aqgainst Palembang port.... 22 of them never made back and not a single hit was scored against Palembang port! SWPAC: We're loading our troops at PM....the target are Horn Island and Mereuake. No sign of enemy's CVs anywhere CENPAC: CHINA: Here everything is moving. We conquered Liuchow and his units are fleeing north towards Tsuyun...he's been lucky cause my bombers never flew in the past days and my advancing units weren't able to catch them....but we're on their heels and i have hopes to catch and maul them before they reach Tsuyun In the north, my tanks arrived at Nanyang, but he had 100,000 men there...i didn't attack cause, without any infantry backing up my tanks the risk of seeing my tanks mauled was too big...so i let them flee north and closed the pocked where 30,000 chinese are now ready to be destroyed. In the Chengchow sector my tanks weren't enough to face the 50,000 men that came out at first....i let them go and i'm now closing the pocket around more 30,000 men that remained in the back...my infantry is arriving so i should be able to consolidate the head and the flanks of my advancing columns, so i'm confident. The good news is that Q-Ball left once again a base undefended: Ankang, west of Sian. We moved the 1st raiding regiment from tsuyun and we managed to conquer the base, after a series of harsh air fightings (my oscars and zeros LRCAPPING and sweeping had to face several hurricanes and what remains of the AVG)...but we won in the skies and now we have another base deep inside enemy territory. Now we moved 20 zeros directly there and tomorrow a base force with 24 aviation support will be airlifted. In 4 days we will airlift also a SNLF unit, while 30 Topsies will bring supplies. Due to the fact that he's retreating towards Sian using the two main roads from Nanyang and Chengchow, i may be able to cut his whole front in two, leaving all his units on my right and using the dirt road that from Nanyang goes to Ankang...this may become interesting! Don't know if it's better to use tanks or infantry units on this kind of road.... However the goal is to keep on moving the front...never let him consolidate....outmanovre him using my superior mobility and finally force him to abbandon entire areas... If i manage to cut the China map in two, dividing Sian and Lanchow from the Chungking plains, and keeping on applying pressure on the southern sector, i may be in a good position in China! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Air attack on Ankang , at 82,42 Weather in hex: Heavy cloud Raid spotted at 20 NM, estimated altitude 24,000 feet.
