This was a long time coming. It is turn 2 of the revised 6A test which saw the fleet sail from Oahu. This didn't turn out at all like I expected. KB was ordered to stay and hit enemy ships at sea with airplanes, but in the event ran for home. Halsey appears to have taken over the game for his own glory and managed a carrier battle just as he intended IRL, never mind Mifune didn't try for one. The retreating KB and Allied carrier forces reacted into each other. Otherwise, Asiatic Fleet had a field day - never mind it hasn't even been able to assemble yet. So did submarines, on both sides. B-17s apparently can't hit the broadside of a barn, but ancient Vildebeeste's can. And a shock attack on Japanese airborn at 51:1 odds failed to wipe out the tiny element at Baguio immediately - although lacking supplies attrition will in due course. In general, this is a good demonstration of the offensive defensive and the potential for the Allies even in December, 1941 - in the context of overwhelming regional force superiority which has too much momentum to stop in the SRA.
