ORIGINAL: inqistor Are you sure about this? I have never checked it, but I definitely have seen RADM with good skills commanding some auxiliary ships (and AOs), after longer game. It may be, they simply get promoted, but maybe AI can chose them, when new ship is produced, and Captain is random? They may become TF commander, if they are Captain of largest ship, but if they disappear from selection, when they no longer command ship, there is definitely something wrong. You can Check this for yourself... 1.) Take one of the new scen..maybe scen 10 ironman (download from this thread... 2.) Start a new game as allied with historical first turn off 3.) Go to pearl Habour take the CA "USS New Orleans" and replace the leader (Good, H. Cpt.)P 3.) Go to the CA "USS San Fransico" (also Pearl Habour) and replace the leader (here McMorris, Chas H) You will find many leaders..also you will find the leader Good, H. Cpt.. The one you had replaced...so the first step was ok 4.) replace McMorris, Chas H with a leader..maybe Good, H. 5.) Now go to the go back to the CA "USS New Orleans" and try to replace the leader....in the list of aviable leader there is no McMorris, Chas H. he should be aviable from 06.12.41 (look at the database)..so he is not reachable anymore..not for ships or as a taskforce commander or as a HQ commander. he is in that game ..but not rechable.... The same for Leader 14051 Sprague, Thomas L..... He is Commander of a PT-boat. When you replace him from that command..he will also be "lost" I think it is simply a Database error...a smal one...
