Wow, I didn't know they had tactical nukes back then.

According to the film "Waterloo" Napoleon said it on the morning of that battle. It was on TV in colour so that must be right.

The one I apply a lot in the game is:

He who defends everywhere. defends nowhere.

I'm sure this isn't the exact phrase, but you probably get the idea.  I'll ask Aw Chu......

The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself. Sun Tzu

Well, gesundheit.

But I'd guess he who defends nowhere is using Apple maps.

By the way, what was it you were going to ask?

Oh, yes, the one I show is a mole pretending to serve you. He's the one I showed bowing down to me. The other is a mere street hooker waiting for an opportunity to pick your pocket. Beware. Aside from that, you should explain to those West Lancashirians that you are from InfrawestLancashire so that they quit looking for you in Cornwall (in Japanese pronounced koorwarrrarr).

So, so true. If you can prevent yourself from losing through a mistake the enemy usually does you the courtesy of losing through their own mistakes.

You could easily be unbeaten in most games of skill if you can just avoid making a stupid mistake until after your opponent makes one.

Then it's OK to make stupid mistakes? Just askin'.

"We have retreated in space but advanced in time"

Actually, the quote is attributed to Mao Tse Tung, but I thought it fit well into this thread.

Not entirely sure, but if I remember right he said it after retreating from a position that couldn't be held, thus saving forces that could be speed up the execution of a later counteroffensive.

I think it highlights the ever present correlation between time, space and force.

Not stupid ones, no. It is however inevitable and needs to be accounted for in-game.

Hexhead,

I'm going to just have to assume you are being willfully dull as a form of trolling since, rather obviously, you're twisting what I said into absurdity. I'm not interested in engaging with trolls on this forum anymore so I'd ask you to cease.

They're called jokes, a drollery, bantering.

I was hoping you might venture a witticism.

6 (I assume) divided by SQRT 8 (I assume) = 2.1213 (approx).
