Thanks to Mike "nashvillen" for finding this picture of Des (I was ubale to track it down yesterday and asked for help in "THE THREAD!!!"

I'm sure that Des will take this in the spirit that it's given, but he really had the "Emu-look" goin' on in that picture! RIP DivePac88, you'll be missed.

RIP. He was really a nice guy. Always a gentle person. Still remember he posted his son's photos of Gaudalcanal. Nice Kiwi.

He's got a few opponents upstairs to play a game with. Should we put Desmond Wallace as the commander of the CL Leander in the data base?

That is a nice thought, I made him the CO in my mod.

RIP

There goes an always helpful gentleman with a nice sense of humor.

Little-known anecdote in remembrance - thanks to Divepac88, the forum can still admire the 'LST girls'.

Years ago I lost my SigPic because the image hosting site I used closed down and I failed to notice.

Short time later I got a PM from Divepac88 with my SigPic attached - he explained that he was collecting all SigPics of the forum and thus had saved mine:

"Okidoki, just didn't want to lose a siggy of the culture significance than your's has."

I just saw this today. I played a few PBEM games with DivePac and exchanged PMs with him a few times.
I distinctly remember we had to take some breaks due to his health and he mentioned several doctors visits. He never disclosed that it was cancer and I never pressed him on it.
This is absolutely awful news. Condolences to his family.

Gents -

I must have missed this thread.

DivePac88 was a Gentleman of the old school, and very helpful when needed.

Apollo 11 thanks for the picture - he looks just like his avatar!

May God be with you and your family, Des.

Mac
