I just bought this game and yesterday and I am now midway through the 2nd Kharkov scenario. Congrats to the developers for this game: a well done mix of operational and strategic aspects. This is right up my alley. I like WITE for its grandiose scale and complexity, but WITE is tiring and time-intensive. The size and scope of Decisive Campaigns is perfect.

I will certainly have many more questions as I'm learning to play the game, but here's 2:

A) I can't figure out exactly what does the central number on unit icons when zoomed in at max level represent. Does that represent effectiveness? Or does that gives an idea of combat power of a unit, so that one unit showing 24 is 2 times as strong as another showing 12? On page 35 of the manual, it explains all the symbols showing on unit icons, except this very one.

B) Combat results window: it's a bit cryptic. Is there any thread or cheat sheet explaining the numbers? What exactly are the numbers below each unit type at the end of the combat? Thousands of casualties? Number of tanks lost? And what's the difference between red and white numbers?

Thanks and congrats again on a great game!

Just picked up both Decisive Campaign games today based on the feedback in the forums and the continued support the games have received.

After the tutorial and a battle I'm enjoying the game, thank you to the developer(s)!

Unfortunately nobody answered, however having played now more extensively with the game, I can say that my assumption that it was some kind of relative effectiveness factor seems to be right. So, all other things being equal, a unit showing 25 is relatively more powerful than one showing 15. However, that number for enemy units can be quite off due to fog of war (as with the other values).

Ah! Thanks Wolfe! Never thought about checking on the other forum. Seems like my instincts were OK. Nice to know however that you can also use that figure as an indicator of men or tanks.
