Or as Matrix calls it, Next Tuesday.

This is not a Matrix reply - that's what I always hear from my landlord whenever I ask him when he's going to fix something at this place I've rented

I think that for an average family to go, say, to a sporting event or a concert, or for that matter, to a fairly nice (non-McDonalds) dinner.. they will already spend this price, or more, for something that will be but a memory the next day. I sincerely doubt the claims of unaffordability, etc. based on that.
I can somewhat understand the idea about a demo... I would have hesitated at that one also, except knowing these developers from the old Harpoon days, and knowing they would put out a great effort.

Just received a personalized impersonal e-mail from Matrix saying that since I enjoyed Harpoon, I've gotta buy Command.

Went to the site, still $90.

Nope.

I'm sorry to say I did the same thing. I've been a Harpoon fan since the original came out.

I had no idea this game existed. After reading the write up on the email I just got, I came here credit card in hand only to have the wind let out of my sails by the price.

I'm a casual strategy gamer. I don't always have the time to learn games with a steep learning curve like this one appears to have. The price is a big risk for part timers like me.

Too bad. It looks amazing! I understand it's a business and prices are set to find the perfect balance, but had it been $50 I'd be playing right now rather then complaining about it.

Hearts of Iron 3 is a deep and complex strategy that does cover the Eastern Front, and is Paradox's best-selling game, but that's just an anomaly, I guess.

Hearts of Iron 3 is a game so overpriced that it's unbelievable. I bought Hearts of Iron 1 and it was a piece of junk. They took all our complaints and put them into Hearts of Iron 2 which was better but still no good. Finally they got to Hearts of Iron 3. If you paid to be a Beta Tester for Paradox along that journey that game is tremendously overpriced.

Good Hunting.

MR

Not sure how you came to that conclusion, but HOI2 is one of the most popular rts WW2 games ever. There are over 15 different iterations of that game engine, including AOD and Iron Cross.

Did you even play it?

you must remember taking the wife and family out to dinner is a "necessity" or she will kill you and buying games is a nicety....she will still kill you if she finds out. Of all things games cannot be associated with 1 night of family entertainment because that is priceless...it's a memory you will have and they emptying of your billfold you will have forever.

Not that I approve of necroposting (especially this thread), but HOI4 was announced last week and the early previews make it sound like they've identified and fixed everything that was wrong with HOI3.

Clearly I am crazy, because I think you shouldn't sell your games for more than the price of so called AAA games like Call of Duty.

There should be a $10 games section and a $5 game section too and all games 10 years or older should be $5 and new releases after 2 years should be $10

Everyone has had their say and it keeps going round in circles. There is nothing new here so I'm going to close it down as its not adding anything to the forum and these threads tend to degenerate in to personal attacks at some point.
