Did you ever seen that bug before?
I have seen the battle replay crash, the returning raid bug, and the urinea-orion bug.
Sometimes the bombers attack mistaken objectives (i thought due to the bomber leader inhability to find the ordered objective), but they report the objective that they are attacking. I have not ever seen that they report a different objective... Bad surprise!

I haven't seen it before but I have been looking for it for a couple of weeks. I was seeing the anomalies it causes without knowing what was happening. I still can't reproduce it at will but I can avoid it by not using the follow command.

@npsergio

What is the urina-orion bug? I haven't heard of it before.

My game with Nick is my first attempt to play the Matrix version of the game. I have been playing the Talonsoft version for years because I had tools external to the game to simplify the problems of the interface. I no longer have an opponent for the Talonsoft version and I have given up waiting for a patch so I started this game. I am not so sure that was a good idea.

In fact, I'm not sure if it's a bug or not...
I'm playing the Luftwaffe, so I have limited info on it, but I have seen a lot of raids in rumania that did'nt bomb their objectives and they drop their bombs over an unexistent urinea-orion phantom objective.
In stuttgart I've seen several times how the offline Jets factory get bombed, but at least it's a real objective (offline but real), but I donkt know what kind of objective Urinea-Orion is...

Thanks, I know about the JJJet factory that gets hit by accident but hadn't heard of the other one. I got bit by the JJJet one already in this game.

I notice this, and my opponent complaint about it. I tried to recreate this. I want to believe that the JJJets Factory and Urinea Orion is not a bug, and the allied bomber leaders get confused when bombing that far objectives... But it can be a bug also... The problem is that we have not any support from matrix now in this game, so we only can guess...

I need to catch up on my posting. Unfortunately, my old friend (a MS natural split keyboard) died and left me using a Logitech board from the junk pile. There was a reason it was in the junk pile. Until I can get another keyboard that fits me I am limited to hunt and peck typing. Finding a keyboard that fits me is easier said than done.

So until I can get something my posts will be short and discussion limited and typos will abound and will not be fixed.

I am back with a new keyboard and will be catching up on my posting. Turn 20 is in Nicks mailbox.

I had to redo turn 20 3 times due to another bug I ran into. As I set up the escorts for my bomb missions the range display (the green line with a green box for link up and a yellow box for turn back) would suddenly start showing a much shorter range for my escorts than it should. The turn back point would lock at the turn back for 0 delay and stay there no mater what delay I entered. Saving and reloading would not fix it unless I got compleatly out of the game, reloaded the game and reloaded the turn from the clean save I make after the weather is generated.

I never got the escort input to work right. I don't know if what I did will work or not. I planned the whole raid package on paper and then just put in the delay numbers in the hope that it is a problem with the interface and not with the data.

Okay analysis of the results (I got to watch the movie till the bombers were half way home) showed the escorts behaving properly which means it is a display bug not a data bug. That means it can be worked around. I think it is a problem with setting delay by dragging the green box so I will do the next turns without using that "feature" and see what happens.

Back to you, time is short today so AAR for #21 will be posted in 1-2 days. Frustrating to see all those recon flights overhead and not be able to do anything about it. The Italian pilots never were much to depend on sadly, but now their absence is really felt too.

Waiting for next turn from TaggedYa, not really sure what is going on but I'm being patient. Keeping busy with the DB editor.

TaggedYa contacted me a couple days ago about the continuation of this game. We'll have a go at it although neither of us have as much time at hand as previously. Expect more AAR:s eventually.

I sent a turn to Nick.

It is a poor effort but should get us back in the swing of things.

I apologize for taking so long. Juggling many items now and just got back into work after the holidays. The turn is 90% done though, figured I should give you a update since I've not replied to your mail yet.

No Problem. I just wanted to make sure we didn't have a mail problem. I can hardly complain about people having to work for a living given I was working for 2 months straight.

Hey, still around? Do you still have this gamefile? I'll have to look around to see if I have it somewhere, one divorce and two housemoves later...

I have still not read your AAR so there's still the possibility to continue. Alternatively start a new game. Started poking around in the db editor again to see if the Fw187 can be added.

I pop in from time to time to see whats happening. When the last of the others in the whirlwind project gave up and moved on I got bummed out on BTR.

Things looked up a little when the code injection project was going on but Matrix squashed that hard and its over also. The really ****ty thing about that was they havn't got a legal leg to stand on but just the threat of being sued means you can't risk it.

I got some hope again when Warshipbuilder got Matrix to come up with Harley's unfinished patch and permission to work on it but that also has gone nowhere. Warshipbuilder wanted me to work on it and I would have loved to but me signing a contract of any kind with Matrix would be the stake in whirlwinds heart. Anything I had touched would be retroactively tainted and have to be tossed and that would be pretty much everything.

I still dream of getting Matrix to sell us the game or to release the code as open-source but I tried several times to talk to them and they didn't even bother to reply.

I should still have the turn you sent me, I can probably find the last turn I sent you but there are a couple of things. First: after a year or so I did read your after action. It was sufficient to convince me that the three thread format was a winner for anyone following. Second: I am using the last of AE's code injected fixes. The old game isn't compatible and I AM NOT going back to playback crashes, return to target disasters and similar. And Last and Most Important: Would you really want to continue that game after bomber-command's Yatzee (dice game when you get all the same number | best possible roll)

There is one problem with AE's fixes which most people will not notice but I consider a major problem. He reduced the fuel consumption in dogfights. This basicly means more casualties on both sides. To my thinking this is a major advantage to the allies as they can much better handle the losses. Many people still wouldn't consider that a problem and if you are doing German against an AI allied it is actually good for balance, but against a descent aggressive human I could see getting your whole air-force destroyed before D-Day.

PM me a good E-Mail or send me an email. My address is still the same.

I actually got a new programmer on board and he was in touch with Harley and Matrix was giving the blessing...
