Not too surprising.

Spotted, but can he do anything about it? I'm skeptical.

I live in fear of those low flying, relatively long distance assault bombers. I have lots of fighters very low...but still. Fear, I tell you.

I have set up escape routes on either side of NG with fuel and akes. Hope I get away!

Do not just automatically run away.  You being spotted is actually good for you.

The purpose of sending the KB to strategic bomb Australian industry is not just to harvest strategic points but to mobilise an otherwise worthless asset.  If you go back you will see that I thought all those air attacks on Allied carriers were very dubious.  You have now come to the realisation that you threw away thousands of aircraft.

Under what circumstances could the KB be employed fruitfully.  Certainly not fighting the Allied carrier death star.  Your air attack would be shredded just like your LBA regularly is.  The KB could try to go after isolated merchantmen which are not under the cover of Allied fighters but not only are those hard to find, it discloses the whereabouts of the KB for no benefit and almost certain destruction.  At this stage of the war the KB is practically useless.

But sending it off to Australia uses the interior lines which you still possess and is away from the enemy carriers getting quickly into position to fight it.  The operation, because it has a meaningful threat with the prospect of a good ROI (unlike sending the KB to the Marquesas in the hope of catching a stray isolated merchantman), will either yield valuable VPs or pull enemy forces away from their current missions which are more dangerous.  Remember with your interior lines you have a chance to lead the enemy carriers on a merry dance away from the real action.

So being spotted is actually good.  Being spotted is not the same as being trapped.

Allies sweep Honshu...no bombers. No bombing in Indochina. No Allied bombing anywhere. Incredible.

The KB steams forward, shakes the spotting Allied planes and continues on to her launch point.

The closest Allied detected carrier group seems heading for Guam.

Be very, very careful down there.

Don´t remember when the US attack bombers show up but they will not only shoot down your CAP but they are absolutely devastating against soft targets. I had some 300 in squadrons if I remember correctly. It will only take him a couple of days to get all the LBA down there...

At this point they really should be forward deployed. Fingers crossed!

Not sure how the map looks. Can he jump from Indochina and Hokkaido to OZ?

4Es for sure. Some of the 2Es as well but not the Havocs. Be careful!

Also keep in mind he can "teleport" planes via PDU ON mechanics if he has squadrons in OZ.

That was a middle of road spotting too - not strong, not weak. Could easily have not yielded much information, or even have looked like some surface raiders.

Gee, Jocke, that is something you will be unable to do in our PDU off game.

Indochina.

He bombs IJA trooper on the jungle road; we bombard and destroy another 10 AFVs. Havoc's are bombing here again.

My troops around Cam Ranh Bay have gotten away...

Allies have 2 destroyers at Saigon, most likely minesweepers.

I set up some bombers at Medan on a very short range. Here is a trial of Betties with good naval bombing skills attacking some xaks at 3000 feet.
