Damn that interview on Grogheads; knocked me right off the darn fence and now I'm on the ground dustin' myself off and wonderin':

1) What build should I get and install or should I stay with 1.02 for now

and

2) How do I get the latest and greatest Cold War and Post Cold War Databases?

Inquiring minds want to know.

So while those of you inclined to answer are - well - answerin' - I'm off to the war!

Also, don't forget the community downloads here. Plus Baloogan has an excellent on-line database & Wiki here.

Thanks, Guys...

Updated to build 490. Got the DB images and descriptions for both Cold War and DB300. DL'd the Community scenario pack and overlays.

Dove right into the game - I figured it'd be easy since I've been playing Harpoon in all its iterations since God was a baby - I was wrong. Opened up the 1st tutorial and was lost within 30 seconds. DAMN! Suppose one must just RTFM!

Annoyed at a sound bug - hope that gets fixed soon.

Gotta learn the system though so I can indulge my 1st love which is scenario design.

Hm anyone up for a little challenge: making a simpler air ops tutorial scenario that we can bundle with the sim?

Thanks!

The existing tutorial is great, because it covers all major aspects of aircraft operation.

Buuuuuuuuut....

Yeah, it could be overwhelming. What about breaking it up into two intro scenarios:
- Straightforward air intercept
- Something like Wooden Leg (strike + refueling)

Then use the existing scenario as "Strike U" graduation

I think Stand Up is a great little scenario to be used as a "starter" scenario. Low unit count. It makes you use the Mission editor to plan AAW missions. You have to use the tanker, so refueling ops get tried out. There is ASUW to perform. both ship to ship and air bombing runs. The only thing missing is the ASW aspect. but i like the existing submarine tutorial for this.
