How about a unit for Pact/NATO traffic coordinators? They could give a movement bonus to units within a limited range and help with some of the rear area snarl ups. Of course, they would have zero combat factors

Actually, now that I think more about it....those types of units would probably be too far back to justify. Anyone with any working knowledge on this know at what point in the battle space would traffic coordination occur?

Sorry for the delay in replying but I was waiting for a friend who served with the RMP's (Royal Military Police). He said they would normally be tasked with traffic control only as far forward as Div and sometimes Bde Assembly areas, the latter only if it was a priority formation move. More often than not they expected to be manning check points within 1 BR corp rear communication zone in teams of 4. With small teams from their parent company being widely dispersed you could model 'for flavour' some poor section meeting a soviet OMG tank force during a deep penetration, somehow I foresee there will be many who see a funny picture forming at just the thought of that happening to some of the military police you've had "dealing with"

ROFL...I was one of those that had that picture form in my head of the, "traffic cops turned front line soldiers".

Of course, for me it was, 'is there a scenario in there somewhere'?

Not one you would want to play as the newly promoted front line soldiers I'm thinking.

Good Hunting.

Yeah...I figured the scale of the game wouldn't justify the inclusion of traffic co-ordination. Thanks for the heads up

Actually, you already have TCPs (Traffic Control Points). In the forward areas, a unit might detach some Scouts to do this. In game, you do this by giving multiple units waypoints in the same hex, and edit these setting delays. That can keep you from having everyone trying to go through the hex at the same time.

Not sure about optimum separation. I use 2 plts/min on roads. 2 min cross country in the open, and 3 min in the woods. I am betting I couple pack them in tighter and not have a problem, though.
