August 6 - 7, 1943 SUBS: A few misses on big transport TFs, including a large one near Sarmi that could be the 12th division "to Biak." INDIA: Supply is now flowing better to Ledo, Jorhat and Dimapur as they've increased their airfield sizes. Chittagong is healthily growing with steady shipments moving into the port. CENT PAC: Roi-Namur falls! This looked pretty dire on landing with a lot of troops coming in disabled, but the bombardments and consistent air strikes must have worn the defenders to the point they had no fighting ability left. This concludes the major push in the Cent Pac area. Now much of what is here can be shifted to the SWPac/SoPac areas to help the push there. Ill now send a bombardment into Wake to see what specific defenses are up there, and prepare for a landing in the next month. Eniweitok may also be invaded soon, but I have to watch out there as it's so close to Truk and Ponape. SO PAC: Turning off the night attacks for now. Nick is using zeros on night watch, and while they're not so effective, we've gotten what we need and there's no need to push it now. CHINA: Patung is taken, but luckily none of the Chinese are completely destroyed. This means fewer zombie troops to clog Chungking. I'll try to move the remainders to NW China. OZ: No reaction to the troops moving to Carnarvon. Yet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR August 6, 43 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Air attack on Roi-Namur , at 132,114 Weather in hex: Light cloud Raid detected at 39 NM, estimated altitude 8,000 feet.
