Hi,

I've got a question relating to the Red Episode: Boomer at Sea and the K441 sub captain taking too much initiative for my liking.

The initial issue I had was when an unknown goblin contact was made, he took it into his head to go deep and steer off course - which would have been fine except for the minefield (!). That was sorted out by changing the doctrine automatic evasion to "no".

The current issue is that (even though I've turned "engage opportunity targets" to "no") when I mark the goblin contact as hostile, the K441 responds by automatically sending a starfish torpedo after it.

Can't quite understand (a) why, and (b) how do I stop it doing this ?

In the attack options there is a option for No AI Attack. That will stop him from firing.

Thanks, that sounds useful and I'll give it a go. Sounds like it might be side (rather than unit) specific though and stop my ASW air patrol firing at the sub. i'll have a look...
