Things are settling down in front of Voronezh. Many Axis units are depleted. German tank production in 41 is a disaster. Another change this turn is that I use my rail capacity now almost exclusively to move my troops.

Also, I replace a number of air leaders this turn including Ernst Shakht who is on paper the worst air leader in the Russian army but has achieved 33 wins and 1 loss.

The south has also calmed down. Some local counterattacks. 44th army has now moved further north to help out at Voronezh.

Same stuff at the Crimea. I'm hitting the Romanians where I can including one attack out of Odessa.

The battle reaches a fever pitch. I am hitting anything I can. I get the first real HELD result due to reserve activation. Still wondering if he has adjusted his TOE too low.

4 battles require the 1=2 rule.

T17 - Leningrad

The Germans have crossed the river. Two hasty attacks on Osinovets have been repelled. Next turn is mud so I am trying to restrict supply.

T17 - Center

In the center he shifts most of his tank and motorized units further west in the direction of VL. I was hoping for a last push towards Moscow so that I could maybe cut off some of his troops before mud but that didn't happen. I move a couple of units to restrict supply.

I open another pocket just before mud. He will be in big trouble in this sector during mud because of supply.

T17 - Stalino

Exciting turn in the south. This is the situation before I move my troops. Three hexes are covered by Romanians. Behind this line some air headquarters and air bases with mostly fighters in them.

T17 - Stalino

I push through the Romanian line and displace several headquarters and air bases. The losses in the corner are not all from the displacement but I believe a large number of fighters and fighter bombers were destroyed due to the displacement.

A couple of skirmishes at the Crimea. No combat at Odessa. He uses Flieger division to reinforce Odessa.

One battles sticks out. A reserve activation causes a HELD result despite my usual attack with 6 divisions. It just shows how important it is to keep reserves.

T17 - The battle for Osinovets

It is understandable that the Germans want Osinovets before mud. But 3 divisions in level 2 forts are to much.

Did you bombard the airbases before push them back??

I think it's good because when the airbases retreat they lose the planes endomaged.

Yes, that is a good idea, but I am too scared to bomb airbases with 100+ fighters in them. I had bad results in the past. Even fighter sweeps don't seem to work very well.

T18 - Velikie Luki

I continue to restrict supply and will try to hold all the rough hexes and Velikie Luki until blizzard. Some supply problems here. Partisans are very active.

Also, I received 5 additional guard rifle divisions this turn.

Nothing happening at Tula so I go straight to Voronezh.

Many units in red in this sector. I attack some of them.

The Romanians are out of supply. I attack them and two units surrender.

Clearly marked where it happened.

Who says that the Russians can't attack during mud? Just focus on out of supply units and regiments. I do get some HELD results though.

2 battles require 1=2 rule.

True, but you have made very good use of all those products of socialist labour ...

To me, it looks like you are completely in control of the campaign now

Bravo !!!

I'm very impressive by your play and your AAR.

It'll be very intersting to follow this game with the reduced blizzard.

I played a game against STEF 78 and I can tell you he'd play to the end.

My AAR on this game in french:http://www.leqg.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=13114

Thanks for the comments!

I can already see what strategy he is trying to use during reduced blizzard. It will be interesting. At the moment we are stuck at T24.

I am withholding my analysis until we are a little bit further in the game. But it is clear that he was not prepared for the counterattack strategy and adapted too late. As soon as the blizzard starts I will sift through the data.

schascha, very interesting AAR. I think very few games make it to the end. In my last game as SHC I made it to January 44. And my current Axis game seems to be over at T56.

Wow, the picture of that dog attacking the tank with explosives. So depressing.

T19 - MUD

Nothing is really happening. He does a couple of successful attacks to straighten out the line. I'll start posting maps again when mud is over.

T19 - Battle

Just one battle against the Romanians and 1=2 was needed. He fixed most of his supply problems so I can't really attack anything else.
