A brief synopses of what has happened during the first 9 turns: In the north Riga was bypassed. I left a division and 8th Army in the city. Attacks by two German infantry divisions failed. Later, a counterattack against two German security regiments failed as well. Once the Axis finished the rail line over the Dvina I decided to evacuate the city. Edit: I just remembered that I also was able to break the northern pocket. This slowed his infantry down. Nothing unusual in the center. No additional Panzer Corps was diverted to AGN. I was unable to break the center pocket. In the South my opponent did the Lvov pocket and if I remember correctly he diverted 2 Panzer Corps south. I was able to break the Lvov pocket without combat but of course it was resealed. I set up two counterattack armies on T1. 27th army in the north and 16th army at the land bridge. A lot of armor went to the land bridge. There was fierce fighting with numerous counterattacks all across the map. On T9 we ended up at a line stretching from Oranienbaum - Shimsk - Nevel - Vyazma - Kaluga - Orel - Kursk - Charkov - Dnepopretovsk - Zaporozhye - Lower Dnepr with a breakthrough north of Dnepopretovsk. Odessa was not captured and a rifle division remains in the city surrounded by Romanian infantry divisions. Attempts by the Axis to bomb the port have failed. The tank losses during the first couple of turns are always enormous especially if you counterattack. The following screenshot from T3 shows just that.
