1st Allies Impulse:

Ground Strikes:
CW sends the TAC bomber at Gibraltar and a CVP on a ground strike on the Spanish units guarding Gibraltar. If they get lucky, they'll try to complicate things for the Spaniards. Missed.

1st Allies Impulse:

Ground Strikes (continued):
Soviets try a ground strike on an OOS Swedish MOT corps. If successful, they'll try to get an easy kill in the land attack phase. Nope.

Wasted strikes globally. Not a single hit.

1st Axis Impulse:

Actions:
GE Land
IT Land
JA Land

Ground Strikes:
Rainy weather precludes alot of air usage, but in Marseilles in the Fine weather, the Italians strike Marseilles. Clearing this city will be their priority this turn, as it will create a land bridge between Spain and Italy and negate the need of CONVs in the West Med. The strike goes OK, hitting 1 of 2.

1st Axis Impulse:

Land Combat:
Only two attacks declared. Italy holds off on attacking Athens until they can get the fleet out (Plus, the Axis hasn't fared well on mediocre attacks). But they do declare an attack on Marseilles.

Here they throw in ground support. France doesn't use up its air power on a factory its already chalked up as lost.

1st Axis Impulse:

Land Combat (continued):
Here's the battle results. Italy has a strong +11.75 modifier. France chooses the Assault table.

Italy doesnt get the fractional (uh-oh), and rolls a ...11. at this point, rolling 1 short of a full max, and having to lose a unit and half disorganized is par for the course for the Axis. Seems a bit unfair that such a high odds attack, rolled well, still costs that much to the attacker. Oh well.

Italy loses a DIV, and disorganizes a bunch, but Marseilles is theirs and their useable resources just went up by 3.

1st Axis Impulse:

Land Combat (continued):
In Russia, the Finnish HQ is used in an attack on a OOS 7-4 INF. Axis is able to get a nice +10.429 modifier, and picks the Blitz table.

Dice are thrown across the room, as the Germans don't get the fractional, and with their mediocre roll of 10, have to lose a unit, plus disorganize half, and the Soviet don't even lose a unit. The Axis rolls a 20 overall and honestly take the worst of it.

The worst part about this is that I KNOW that the Axis has absolutely no chance of winning this scenario given the terrible rolls that they have been getting, but it won't take effect until a long time from now, and I honestly feel as though I am wasting my time here delaying what is going to be an outcome already determined. Vent over, for now, until the next loss the Axis has to take on an attack where they have overwhelming superiority.

2nd Allied Impulse:

Weather:
More help for the Allies. Weather turns sour over more areas. Athens may be safe for the turn. We'll see.

Oh, and more bad news for the Axis. They still have to kill that little 3-3 French INF that is putting a ZOC on the rail line from Spain to France. It's preventing 2 resources from getting through to Italian factories. Sigh.

2nd Allied Impulse:

Actions:
CH Land
SU Land
CW Land
US Land
FR Combined

Naval Moves:
FR moves their slower BBs out to the 3 box in the West Med

Rail Moves:
USSR rails another factory out

Land Moves:
Bad weather restricts movement so most theaters show no change. In Brazil, however, the US invasion launches an attack on Rio. With shore bombardment and HQ support, the US has a +10 modifier.

Germany chooses the Blitz table. US rolls a 4. (I guess this game is going to roll low on attacks for everyone). Each side loses a unit, and all disorganized.
