Ulleungdo Island, 2018 Updated 7/13/18 to version 1.1, found and corrected a small, but important, error! Very important: Created Under Version 1.14 - Build 998.9 Al “Beirutdude” Sandrik The Time Is: 11 September 2018, 00:00 Zulu/10:00 Tokyo Time Eastern Sea/Sea of Japan Playable as USN Up to 3 Days Duration Background: A failed coup attempt on September 8th has resulted in civil war in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK – North Korea) and heavy, but confused, fighting is occurring across the North. On 10 September 2018, at 20:43 UTC/11 September 2018 06:43 Tokyo Time the American Flag Ro/Ro Vessel M/V Alliance Norfolk was torpedoed and sunk by a rogue submarine. The survivors report being hit by two torpedoes and seeing a submarine briefly surface. Further, an ex-USN Surface Warfare Officer claims the vessel he saw was a Romeo Class submarine indicating a DPRK vessel. Your mission, as commander of the USS Campbell, is to sink that submarine before more commercial vessels can be sunk. One problem is you are alone, the ROK and Japan do not want to take action due to the sensitive situation in the North and American naval assets in Japan have been evacuated due to a Category 5 Typhoon rapidly approaching the islands. This is a very low complexity scenario with high replay value due to all units (including merchants) being teleported at the beginning. Also this is a good scenario for beginners. I did set up missions for Campbell and her Helios but if you want just delete them and set up your own. Your command is in EMissions CONtrol (EMCON) "Alpha," no emisions, so set your radars and ECM as you see fit for both. HINT: Review the locked reference points to know the lay of the scenario and track of the typhoon then deselect them at the very beginning of the scenario. Created Under Version 1.14 - Build 998.9 Al “BeirutDude” Sandrik (ex-Beachinnole) Al.Sandrik@gmail.com
