Are you really moving your troops to that small island south of Suva?
If so the plan seems a tipical Allied plan: moving to a undefended base, building up the base and suppress from there the main bases. Am I guessing right?

Yes I am going in. But no plans for developing infrastructure there. It will be used only as forward supplies depot for navy.

When both sides are doing an AAR, probably both AARs get fewer comments, because the temptation to read from both sides is strong.

Situation Report June 13th 1942.

SS KIX fail to find good target and fired inaccurately two torpedoes at destroyer DD Hibiki.
Lackey for Japanese SS Gudgeon launches 6 torpedoes at CV Hiryu, all missed target.
Same with SS KXVIII attack at heavy cruiser Chikuma, 4 torpedoes missed target and the same happen to SS Searaven two torpedoes fired at destroyer Inazuma.

Due to poor shape of of RADM. Yamaguchi's carriers engines at morning he was 120 miles behind VADM. Nagumo's strike force. This could lead to major disaster, but Jocke decided to save our day.
Nagumo achieved completely surprise and 6:41am got reports about five enemy carriers. At this point Shokaku and Zuikaku fighters were already in flying to sweep Pago Pago airfield.
Four carriers were out of range of DB and at edge of range of TB, so Nagumo sent 77 Kate escorted by 121 Zeros at main carriers group and 9 DB escorted by 24 Zeros at alone carrier 80.

Sweep results:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morning Air attack on Pago Pago , at 148,161

Weather in hex: Overcast

Raid detected at 44 NM, estimated altitude 36,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 13 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M3a Zero x 18

Allied aircraft
P-40E Warhawk x 43

Japanese aircraft losses

Weather in hex: Overcast

Raid detected at 13 NM, estimated altitude 35,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 3 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M3a Zero x 18

Allied aircraft
P-40E Warhawk x 14

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M3a Zero: 1 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
P-40E Warhawk: 2 destroyed

Carriers strike vs allied task forces:

Morning Air attack on TF, near Ta'u at 150,160

Weather in hex: Overcast

Raid spotted at 29 NM, estimated altitude 15,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 10 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 24
D3A1 Val x 9

Japanese aircraft losses
D3A1 Val: 7 damaged

Allied Ships
CV Illustrious, Bomb hits 1

Morning Air attack on TF, near Savaii at 149,156

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid detected at 80 NM, estimated altitude 15,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 34 minutes

Japanese aircraft

B5N2 Kate x 77

Allied aircraft
Sea Hurricane Ib x 16
Martlet II x 16
F4F-3 Wildcat x 51
F4F-4 Wildcat x 26

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 8 destroyed
B5N2 Kate: 21 destroyed, 4 damaged
B5N2 Kate: 1 destroyed by flak

Allied aircraft losses
Sea Hurricane Ib: 1 destroyed
Martlet II: 2 destroyed
F4F-3 Wildcat: 4 destroyed
F4F-4 Wildcat: 1 destroyed

Allied Ships
CV Indomitable
CV Formidable
CV Saratoga, Bomb hits 1
CA Chester

Result is rather poor. There is a few reasons for this outcome:
1) Kate pilot were trained in NavT, Asw, Nsearch, lack of NavyB skill. :(
2) I was complete surprised for me to by find-out allied carriers there, I was hopping for some fat AKs, APs docket at Pago Pago.

I have lost 5 Val, 31 Kate and 13 Zeros for no gain :(
