You know, I have observed that female nursing supervisors seem to have some of the most toxic personalities. It's not 100%. It depends on the culture of the hospital...but Lordy, Lordy (as a former freakishly tall but terrible basketball player might say). I suppose I am not permitted to say that but if you ask hospital nurses they will secretly tell you.

Stalker Girl ran up against a particularly nasty one. They call her at 3 AM and beg her to come in for an extra shift because they have some seriously sick patients in their unit and need the skill level. They offer her a $500 bonus and overtime and she feels an obligation so she goes in for a 14 hr shift. The next day she is trying to catch up on some sleep and the nursing manager calls her and wakes her up and tells her she didn't deserve the special pay as if it was some kind of conspiracy.

If somebody called me and woke me up and made such an inference I would drop the F-bomb about 15 times and then call in political chits later to repair the damage. Women just do things differently. Instead of confronting the accuser they tend to internalize the accusation. Now, as a manager I have been to enough touchy-feely classes to know that what you do is first complement or thank the employee for the extra shift and THEN ask a question about how it was approved. Then you wait for the answer and say "If I understand you correctly, the night supervisor approved the overtime".

It's the freaking COVID thing. It is putting enormous stresses on the entire medical field.

**************March 18, 1943(e)************

Sumatra: We start landing and it goes incredibly well. No significant Jap attacks on the landing forces. Benkoelen gets roughed up a bit but no shipping losses. The problem is the fighter groups on the carriers are at 50% fatigue so I have to call off any further unloading and get the troopships back.

Our guys also claim BOTH Nagato and Kirishima sunk on the 13th. They were hit but I don't believe they were sunk. It would be great news but you can't trust these guys.

FYI, the 3rd season of Narcos is fantastic. The curiously charismatic Pablo has "assumed room temperature" so "la DEA" switches over to the Cali Cartel. We learn that the cowboy position seems to be favored position for hot Colombian women and about 20% of the narcos seem to be gay.

I got a ride back from the airport after my fishing trip from a Colombian driver. I rewarded him with my Pablo Escobar imitation......"Plato...............o plomo"

He was so excited I thought we were going to crash into a light post.

Next time this happens, have the people call the nursing manger in for the duty. Have them tell the nursing manager that it is just regular pay with no overtime or shift differential because she really does not deserve it. If the nursing manager is not a nurse and says so, then have them tell the nursing manager that you don't have to be a nurse to empty a used bed pan . . .

This reminds me of Y2k. I had come in at 10:00 pm to cover for the change over to the year 2000. I left about 8 and went straight to bed. Some critical tool went down and my boss couldn't get ahold of me. So he wrote me up for not responding during normal working hours.

I've also enjoyed Narcos very much, including the third season. Interesting that the actor playing Escobar is Brazilian, and had to go back to school to work on his Spanish pronunciation.

Moura's native language is Portuguese, but he also fluently speaks English and Spanish. For his portrayal of Pablo Escobar in Narcos, Moura went back to college to take Spanish for foreigners, to perfect his pronunciation as someone who speaks Spanish as a first language. Moura had to gain over 18 kilograms (40 pounds) to play the role of Pablo Escobar; after production of the second season of Narcos, Moura decided to lose the weight through an all-vegan diet.

It seems to me the whole Y2K thing was like a pandemic of a transmissible psychiatric illness....but, in fact, was actually a vast conspiracy of retired FORTRAN programmers.

We had a Y2K "manager" who bout about 6 pallets of kitty litter to use as an emergency latrine....and glow in the dark tape to put on the doorknobs.

Idiot.

Talking to Kia Motor Finance since my payments got applied to the wrong account. First thing to note is there are a Hell of a lot of Fillipina women working in Seoul.

Kia babe with Fillipina accent: Current address?

Me: Blah, blah, balh

Kia babe with Fillipina accent: Current date of birth?

Me: Doesn't that usually stay the same?

<We both start laughing and the call become even more unproductive> She had to transfer me to "customer service". What a waste of time. They charged 3 late fees while they sat on my money. I got two reversed but not the third so I asked "Prease to tark to Mistah Kia". They had me listening to piano versions of Stairway to Heaven and then they cuut me off.

*************March 19, 1942(e)**********

Sumatra: The carriers fighters are sky high on fatigue and have crashing morale and JJ has moved more planes in to Singers so I decide to go with what we have ashore and get all the transports out to relative safety to the West.

Very effective except some staff flunkie forgot to turn on the "cancel unloading" button on one of the 5 TF's.

Very effective except some staff flunkie forgot to turn on the "cancel unloading" button on one of the 5 TF's.

C'mon...you can be honest with us. You did this on purpose just so you could be right in your '5 xAKs sunk' prophecy, didn't ya?

PI: Another big attack at Clark. The manage 1:4, which is an improvement. It's the bombing starting to take a toll.

Mate, they just lost another division equivalent. This was a stellar defensive effort. Keep up the yoeman's work.

Thats why I deal with my local credit union. Although they can be weird too. I went in to find out what payoff was and wrote a check for that amount. They wanted to see ID.

If they don't fix it, check your credit report. Then check the law for Fair Credit Reporting. While I am not an attorney, it can be profitable to correct your credit report. If you are going to do that, don't forget to document everything.
