Unity presents latest-generation offensive and defensive weapon systems.
As for the artillery sector, there are:
3 multi-role cannons Otobreda 76/62 (two bow and one aft) of the Super Rapido MF Davide type, with guided ammunition and provision for the new Vulcano ammunition;
3 machine guns with OTO Melara remote control 25/80 mm;
2 OTO Melara ODLS-20 rocket launchers, for launching underwater and aerial deceivers.
The missile sector includes: preparation for 2 vertical launchers (VLS Sylver) with 8 cells (one forward and one aft) for a total capacity of 16 Aster 15/30 missiles or for 32 CAMM ER missiles. Also the sensor section , can boast advanced technologies:
PAR SPN-720, precision approach radar, 3D volumetric radar capable of tracking 300 tracks and 12 targets simultaneously, range over 200 km;
Radar Kronos Power Shield (AESA in L-band), multi-function surveillance radar, with a range of 1500-2000 km;
IFF, target identification radar;
Kronos Dual Band Radar (DBR AESA 4FF): C-band (Kronos Quad - Fitted For) and X-band (Kronos StarFire);
TACAN AN-553 / N, for precision approaches and sending information to aircraft in flight;
"Zeus" EWS system, equipped with an extremely powerful electronic connection subsystem based on solid-state GaN TRX modules. The integrated EW duite provides RESM (Radar emission interceptor), RECM (radar deceivers) and CESM (radio communications interceptor) effective both in blue water and littoral, with advanced maritime surveillance and situation assessment via ELINT and COMINT advanced features , up to an innovative SEI algorithm.

Air capacity
The unit has a 230m x 32m flight deck thus covering an area of about 7400 m² with 9 take-off points for heavy helicopters or 4 F35Bs.
In addition, the bridge will be able to accommodate about 14/20 aircraft in different configurations on it, in conditions of full operation (presumably 4/6 F35B aft and 8/10 helicopters in the bow). The 2600 m² hangar is sized for the entry of up to 14 aircraft, also in different configurations. Finally, there are two 15m x 15m aft elevators for a maximum load of 42 tons. All flight operations are controlled by the aft island.
Amphibious capacity
The amphibious capabilities of the ship are very advanced, as these are the main weapon of the unit. The second bridge, under the hangar, with an area of 2300 m², in fact has a 55m x 15m flooded basin sized for the entry of 4 LCMs, named LC23, or 1 LCAC / LCAT. The LCMs will be able to carry: 1 Ariete, 2 amphibious assault vehicles AAV7 (or 2 copies of the future SuperAv 8x8), or 5 Iveco LMV Lince, or 1 Centauro, 1 Freccia or 300 soldiers
