While this news has been claimed as fake, the counteroffensive is surely accounted for by both Chinese and Taiwanese militaries just a strait in between. This can be made as a scenario of how Taiwan can cause damages in Fujian when war happens:

"The combo could also be remarkably devastating if adapted for American heavy bombers. One can imagine B-2 or B-21 carrying hundreds of these weapons at a time, raining them down on entire enemy formations and air defense nodes from a relatively safe distance. And like the F-35, having a few SPEAR-EWs onboard to use defensively when needed to solve a tactical problem or plug an intermittent vulnerability gap could be incredibly useful for American bomber crews."

Volume of fire with reduced weight ... not a new concept ... may now coming to EW? Erdoğan might be barking up the wrong tree.

And a bit more tactical detail than we normally receive:

The Chinese Military Parade in 2019 will begin at 1st October. In the meantime, there are numerous amount of new (yes, new and unseen before) weapons PLA will put to show, and that is proved to be true during their parade rehearsals.

Right now I am tidying those photos from Twitter and some Chinese military forums. Some rumors that was told as fabrications are going to be a reality based on the shape of weaponries behind the veils. And I hope this parade can tells us what’s the direction and ambition of PLA heading to.

Stay tuned.

Allegedly an operational S-300 or S-400/ with 9M96 quad pack in service?

At last...saw its mock up at MAKS-1999, as a part of S-300PMU2 TEL. Actually, this quad-9M96/D pack is even more important addition to S-400' capabilities than a 400km-range 40N6 missile. Because it quadruples the amount of missiles being able fired simultaniously, due to the ARH-seeker on 9M96/D missile, which don't need a constant illumination by 92N6 FCR, as it was needed for the older S-300 seires missile of 48N6* family equipped with a SARH seeker.

Payload will certainly take a hit but if they have a decent guidance package that shouldn't matter - I wonder if the focus is Blast, Frag or penetration - Blast I suspect. Very interesting

China Launches 1st Type 075 LHD for PLAN

quote:

China's first amphibious assault ship, a Landing Helicopter Dock known as Type 075, was launched in Shanghai today.

The People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy), the customer of the vessel, said in a statement that after a brief ceremony starting at 9:20 am at a CSSC’s Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard, waters began to be pumped into a dry dock in which the ship’s hull was built.

The legendary RASM, could this be it? Especially it’s confirmed to be VLS-fires based on the photos.

Either this one, or the DF-17 would be the candidate for the VLS launched RASM.

As spotted during the rehearsals:

Rick Joe also found an article mentioning the unveiled missile have a 4-digit kilometers of range, and robust anti-jamming. Some of them read “上千公里” as “1000km and above” , which is incorrect. While “上千” is means “around a thousand” in mandarin, so the “1000km” is the center of guesstimate number.

Still, even either one is correct, that means the range is nowhere as extreme as RASM theorized. It’s not an ICBM and much lower speed than to escape low earth orbit.

Oh, nearly forgot this with all the talk about the Type 075 LHD:
China's own AR-3 370mm MRLS seems to be in service now, reportedly designated "PHL-16".

A very important weapon, because it now gives the PLA the ability to comfortably hit Taiwan's shores and a few 10s of km inland from across the strait.

Range is estimated at 280km, using 370mm guided rockets with a CEP of 30m:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNCg7s9EAxw

Older stats here, giving the range of 220km and CEP of 50m, possibly using older versions of the guided rockets:

http://www.military-today.com/artillery/ar3.htm

A very significant new support asset for the PLA.

Some interesting events up north:

https://thebarentsobserver.com/en/arctic-ecology-security/2019/09/polarstern-enters-russian-arctic-waters-military-activity-area

Funny picture of the navy ship "Vice-Admiral Kulakov” stopping a small sailing boat.

Also mentions an icebreaker "will sail deep into the ice and subsequently drift with the ice for a whole year." Yikes!

Unmanned aerial vehicle "Okhotnik" made the first joint flight with a fifth-generation fighter Su-57

quote:

The latest military unmanned aerial vehicle "Okhotnik" made the first joint flight with the aircraft Su-57. As part of the ongoing test program, the Okhotnik UAV flew in an automated mode in full configuration with access to the duty zone. During the flight, the interaction between the Okhotnik UAV and the leader aircraft for expanding the fighter’s radar field and target designation for the use of long-range aviation weapons without entering into the air defense conditional response zone was worked out. The first joint flight lasted more than 30 minutes. Tests of the latest combat complex created by The JSC Sukhoi Compan are carried out at one of the test airfields of the Russian Defence Ministry. "Okhotnik" is made according to the “flying wing” scheme with the use of special materials and coatings that make it practically invisible to radar detection equipment. The UAV is equipped with target equipment for optoelectronic, radio engineering and other types of reconnaissance.
