ORIGINAL: NakedWeasel So pardon my ignorance, but I find this a little confusing. What is being discussed and shown here, the KH-32, the KH-59, the KH-SD, or the KH-MT??? Searching google for information about these designations points to previous weapon designs, none of which look at all like what is being depicted here. "articles 9A-2362" doesn't direct to anything missile-related at all, I'm afraid. Can you perhaps clarify what this post is about? The weapon on the left appears to be a variant of the Klub missile family, and researching the image in google suggests this might be an ARM variant? The weapons on the right appear to be a new type of cruise missile analogous to the JASSM, or the Taurus, but there is very little info as to the purpose, or performance other than it has a limited range of less than 1000km, or 2000km, and may or may not have a nuclear warhead. Due to the nose fairing, there seems to be speculation that these are active radar guided, which leads one to believe that they are intended for anti-shipping? Anyway, this is all a bit confusing to me. Well , first news is about Kh-32, this is AShM , upgrade of Kh-22 family based on Kh-22NA with new engine and new radar from "Phazatron" 9A-2362 is military index for Kh-32, so if you see somwhere in russian papers about weapon systems this numbers you can translate this like 9A-2362 = Kh-32 132.0000.000-30 is factory index for Kh-32, so if you see state contract where Russian Air Forces buy this thing it is also Kh-32 second part of my post is about new Kh-59MK2 old Kh-59MK2 cant fit into PAK-FA bays Altitude range of missile launch km - 0.2 ... 11 The range of Mach numbers flying vehicle at the time of the missile launch - 0.5 ... 0.9 The maximum range of the missile flight, km - 285 Angle to target at the missile launch. - ± 45 ° The height of the missile flight above the earth's surface, depending on the terrain, m - 50 ... 300 Speed of missile km / h - 900 ... 1050 Control system - SNAU based INS + NAP + OE-M The circular error , m - 3 ... 5 Warhead: - Type - COEP (penetrator) or KBCH - Weight, kg - 320/283 Missile launch weight kg - 900 Dimensions missiles, m: - Body length - 5.7 - Wingspan - 1.3 - Diameter of the body - 0.38 (0.42 in the bow) so KTRV came with this solution, new Kh-59MK2 , for some reasons dont change missile name Altitude range of missile launch km - 0.2 ... 11 The range of Mach numbers flying vehicle at the time of the missile launch - 0.5 ... 0.9 The maximum range of the missile flight, km - 290 Angle to target at the missile launch. - ± 45 ° The height of the missile flight above the earth's surface, depending on the terrain, m - 50 ... 300 Speed of missile km / h - 750 ... 1000 Control system - SNAU based INS + NAP + OE-M The circular error , m - 3 ... 5 Warhead: - Type - COEP (penetrator) or KBCH - Weight, kg - 310 Missile launch weight kg - 770 Dimensions missile, m: - Body length - 4.2 - Wingspan - 2.45 - width, height 0.4 as you can see new Kh-59MK2 have 5km more range, 150 km/h less speed, 130kg less weight to fit on UVKU-50U in PAK-FA bays, both have OE guidance "weapon on the left" is new KTRV Grom-E1 missile with Grom-E2 submunition
