Very interesting read about the possible up-coming hardware for the PLAN. Some of those leaks have been previously shared by Dysta and me in this thread.

The hypoxia issue isn't isolated to the F-35. Several Air Force and Navy aircraft have had this issue. I saw articles on F-22s, F/A-18s, navy training aircraft, etc. It appears to me to be a systemic issue with the oxygen generators across the spectrum with the issue more or less in some aircraft.

As to reliability a couple points...

Every new airframe has the spares issue on ramp up. Suppliers have to balance spares and new airframes. If they are falling behind on supplying components for new build, they will short spares. The F-22 and the F-15 had similar issues.

https://www.defensenews.com/flashpoints/2017/10/31/china-has-practiced-bombing-runs-against-guam-us-says/

"Chinese aircraft are also testing U.S. air defense identification zones, the officials said. Chinese H-6K “Badger” bombers upgraded with 1,000 mile range air launched cruise missiles are testing U.S. defense zones around Guam, the officials said. The Badgers run “not infrequent” flights to get within range of the U.S. territory, they said. “The PRC is practicing attacks on Guam,” the officials said. Those bombers are also flying around Hawaii, they said."

Hawaii? That's news to me.

Not just badgers, the stepping stones efforts for missiles' target identification test is also important to submarines as well. If China is fulfilling the US Defense's expectation by missiling Guam and Hawaii in offset range, it will be the submarine's first job rather than bombers.

(Sorry for being inactive these days, it's difficult to cite some PLA-related news because I am no longer to use Chinese source or website anymore. I will only abide with western official reports from this day forward)

I'm no naval architect (or whatever you call a ship designer), but that ROK PKX-B Chamsuri II looks amazingly un-seaworthy. It seems very top heavy.

The sensor enables the missile to seek and attack specific high-threat maritime targets within groups of ships, including those protected by sophisticated anti-aircraft systems. The missile’s range, survivability, and lethality capabilities are designed to help warfighters more effectively conduct missions in denied environments from beyond the reach of return fire - meeting a pressing need for both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force.

German Luftwaffe looking for replacement for the Tornado
http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/f-35-luftwaffe-aeussert-wuensche-zu-tornado-nachfolge-a-1177071.html

Options are the F-15, F-18, F-35 or Eurofighter Typhoon. The Luftwaffe prefers the F-35, and a new development is ruled out as it would take too much time and be too expensive for the 100 or so aircraft required.

Russia Discussing Gepard-5.1 Frigate Loan With Sri Lanka

Naval Group Refines the Design of its FTI / Belharra Next Generation Frigate

quote:

French shipbuilding group Naval Group (formerly known as DCNS) continues to flesh out the design of its Belharra frigate currently being developed for the French Navy (Marine Nationale). A new scale model of the FTI (frégate de taille intermédiaire or mid-size frigate) showcased during the Pacific 2017 naval defense event shows that Naval Group has been busy in the past year optimizing the design around the bridge area and the helicopter hangar, providing a much improved look to the next generation surface combatant.
