Just to elaborate on the supply issues for the benefit of other readers, we can see by the previous two posts that it ain't all that bad, this first time player has offensives going in all three areas in March 1941. That is way different than the historical situation.

Hmm ... we need to make it tougher on the Axis !!

If Elmer is constantly bombing your units, there is usually something you can do about it.

If Elmer is using planes, he is most likely bombing your units on a river. First try putting an AA unit in the location, this usually causes Elmer to change his mind about bombing. If that doesn't work, move off the river to a non river hex.

If Elmer is using artillery to harass you, move one of your artillery units into the hex. Sometimes it takes two artillery units in the hex before Elmer is deterred.

In both cases, there are no guarantees, sometimes the player has to give up the hex if it is more important to stop the harassment.

No, it's quit alright, the 2 Finn divisions have AA and are fighting back, along with my fighter's on AS status in the area. Elmer lost 200-250 aircraft during one attack on these two divisions and no losses to my troops.. And the two divisions are on a bridge.

Ah, I see by the screenshot that you haven't linked with them so no German AA or Art can get there to help. The thing that worries me about that is that the Finns don't get tons of replacements, so if Elmer is causing losses, we probably should address it. Maybe I should add an AA unit and an Artillery unit to one or both of the Finn zones ? I'll leave it up to you guys.

Finn rifle squad losses. I haven't attacked with the 4 eastern divisions. I think Elmer attacked once with a infantry division. I'll watch the next time the soviets bombers make a hit, and record losses.

Also, just to add, I held back in the south, way behind historical '41 gains. And so the southern divisions went into winter defensive positions in much better supply shape than AGC or AGN.

AGN since taking Leningrad, hasn't really moved in 18 turns. Just now started back up again.

AGC pretty much in the same boat, after taking Moscow on or about turn 18, has only moved a short amount to secure LOC for the area.

And, there are ALOT of soviet forces out in front of my every increasing line of attack.

here's the latest attack by Elmer on these 2 finn divisions.

No losses as reported to the ground troops, but the Soviet aircraft take losses. No AS interceptor by my fighters..

Yellow = Garrison, Red or Yellow = Reorg.

The Finns nearest Leningrad are in Garrison until Leningrad is captured. At that point the Exclusion Zone is also dropped [it looks like that happened]. If somebody wanted to investigate, they could look at Event #99 in v1.2 to see what the problem is.

I doubled checked, I'm running v1.3 according to the scenario design notes. And here's event 98 & 99 from the list.

Ok, thanks for looking. So, Zone 1 was removed, yet the Finns stayed in Garrison. It is seemingly impossible. I checked again for any possible interference with ev99 and found none. It will be interesting to see if Mr. Fulkerson gets Leningrad in his current play, and what happens.

AGS Update - Southern right flank. Turn 41, 28MAR42

Southern most right flank is being held by Ally forces. Supply levels are low all things considered,
and so these troops are dug in and holding the line verses advancing. German troops are further
up the line pressing forward.

At first I typed 'when' you get Leningrad, so I changed it to 'if' to lessen the pressure. Hey, if you don't get it, you can always pull a Churchill and say it wasn't important !

AGS - Update 29MAR42, Turn 41.

Encirclement of Soviet forces has been completed by the 6 Panzer divisions, and now these Soviet
formations are going to be crushed by no supply lines and eliminated. Multiple Soviet units
are blocked up, including the Soviet 13th Army HQ.

Steve / Larry,

Got a weird hex grid at 65,35. See the below image. The Panzer regiment near the yellow highlighted
hex has full movement points, and cannot enter the yellow highlighted grid. All other hexes are open
to move into at a move cost, but this hex grid at 65,35 is blocked.

Hex description doesn't give any rough or impassable terrain.

strange stuff..

You've found another of Steve Stil's Easter Eggs. There's a toll road in that hex and nobody on the crews
of the tanks has exact change.

My therory is that there's also Badlands in that hex. That would exclude all but foot movement. Maybe
somebody could look at that hex in the editor and check it. Just a thought.

Also, found this re-enforcement showing up off map.

I think you may have posted this one on your game Larry, but here it is again. location 133, 148 is
way off the south end of the map.

There's a whole bunch of hexes in that area that show hills and forest that my tanks cant drive through.

65,34 / 65,35 / 65,37 / 64,34 / 64,35 / 63,35 / 63,36

looks like good tank country, but no go.. lol

Ja, terrain unsuitable for motorized movement. Note that while 'foot' units can move thru it, supply can only be traced into it [not thru it].

It's a good thing my RR Engineers are repairing the rail around this area... I'm watching the terrain, but I guess I gotta look even closer now...

will be reduced here shortly.

Armament update -

New equipment is arriving to the battle field, Mid April, 42'.

Me-109's(late models) have been introduced to the AO. Squadron JG-3 was completely retrofitted
with the new equipment. Substantial increase in air power comes with this new model.

AGN update -

Soviet forces have been spotted moved on the Finnish troops on the east side of Lake Lagoda. AGN
Commanders are assessing the intel. AGN may need to fire up the Panzer troops to move forward
to tip the battle to assist the Finns. AGN wasn't tasked with moving much further east due to the
terrible terrain east of Leningrad.

Requests are coming in from the Finnish Government for the Germans to move. Although, the Germans
would like the 4 Finnish divisions sitting on the frontier to move out to assist.. No response as of
yet.

Got a question on withdrawing units. Is there a way to show that hex grid that the unit was last in prior
to it's removal? Not sure if TOAW can do that or not.

Reason that I am asking is that, with the below example, JG-3 was withdrawn, and replaced with a
new air group with new equipment. I have my AS net set up accordingly, but I don't have it memorized
as to what area of the front JG-3 was covering.

So um........I'd like to see that kind of information too. So I put in a request to Ralph for his advice on
this little detail. It would be pretty cool to know what it was so you can dispatch the replacement to
the same spot. I agree. Keep those really helpful observations coming dude.

And on that note, for this scenario, what about adding some snippet to the recent news feed when new
equipment is introduced to the battlefield. I always read through the news and other reports before
starting in on the battle stuff for each new turn.
Cheers
