Will the Allies unleash their air force today on the the Japanese?

The IJAAF bombs Chungking, ahead of the shock/deliberate attack there.

ETA on when you will be ready to assault San Diego? Troops assigned to do so?? Did you bring at least one Command HQ with you?? If so, is it prepping for SD or LA? You need that extra adjusted assault value (90%) if you can get it.

Afternoon comes and the Fuso gets hit twice, but they both bounce. Every SBD is destroyed in the pursuit after the bombing run.

And then, swiftly, we are back to dodging torpedoes...we have survived another day in the air.

Our fears fall to tomorrow...where where the Jugs?

A surprising 1-2 attack, 150 points shy of 1-1....but the forts aren't degraded!

Yes, despite a 1-1...the Japanese troops fight off the superior Allied troops...but it is shaky, shaky indeed.

Several PT boat fights, bombard LA, fight off three waves of bombers...suffer two 1000 pound hits.

All in a days work for the Fuso.

She needs fuel, but is otherwise good to go!

Probably have the first artillery bombardment in two days...

I did bring a command HQ and it is prepping for LA...not San Diego.

Why shock at Chungking? It'll be months to get the disablements ready again.

A shock for me is when I know I already have an advantage, and generally with smaller troop number than you have there.

At SD you'll be going in with a DA to start, right?

The division that closed the river/road hexside moved north across the river and thus was the only shocking unit. All other units deliberate attacked or bombarded except for one division I held back.

Ah, in this case the casualty numbers were great, IMO - shows progress. Without that shocking division, you would've had comparable casualties. Too bad about the forts, but his units got really beat up and won't be recovering much.

I got the replay of to Jocke, and it will probably take me all day to flip the turn...synch bug hit us this day according to Jocke.

Three fresh fighter squadrons arrived at Santa Ana...but I need to get more troops into LA as the Allies are really bringing in the reinforcements.

On the positive side, there are a few less PT boats to worry about.

Right. I remember seeing that moving there in one of the maps above. Cool.

How much are you sending to LA and when will the new units arrive?

Shocking into Chungking....painful, but something you have to do.

I used a division. I know other players will shock across with a recon tank regiment, but I just think the division makes more sense. Just play style.

I have spent almost 0 points on leaders, but this guy has a tough reputation for following proper administration...might have to bite the bullet and switch him out.

Two divisions already have forts 1. The 2nd Tank is in almost perfect shape for the fight coming up, and will now be in combat mode instead of move mode.

Today the 2nd Tank, an machine cannon AA unit (woohoo!) and some 24cm Howitzers made it in.

Tomorrow there should be: more 24cm guns and a mess of 10cm guns; the following day will see the 12th ID arrive, and then a mess of rapid fire AT guns, 16th ID, more artillery and AA.

May dispatch another ID there too.

Jocke tells me he is heading out on vacation at the end of the week, no turns for at least one week.

I really need the breather, as I have so much to do...but I also would like to really progress in my other game in that time frame too, so that will be my focus during the Allied Vacation.

In game news, I will be upgrading my first squadron to Oscar IIIa. I know Lok doesn't like the plane, but this is pdu off and it is important.

Over Santa Ana I flew a split CAP yesterday...some planes at 30K. Today, I have lowered them all to under 10K. I am also providing more planes and have engagement range set to 1 to cover LA. Here is hoping!
