The 9th Division saw the brunt of the fighting today....and have been put into reserve no pursuit mode for tomorrow.

They, too, know how to wield a shovel.

I will try to flip a turn tonight...so Jocke can do another turn before his vacation.

This is it...I will discover the full extent of San Diego's defenses.

I am gratified to see that my battleships reload even from a size 0 port. Very important...

Choices....

History has taught me not to mess with trying to penetrate the Allied Carriers but rather attack the landing.

Fully agree, it is the best chance of really inflicting pain. Most experienced Allied players will generally have their fleet CVs one hex back or to the side of the invasion hex for a degree of safety from mines, MTBs, CD guns, subs and surface forces. Limiting the range of your strike aircraft and a whole lot of luck may allow you to get at those juicy targets full of troops or CVEs.

LOL, I know

I love the game so much so yes would be my answer. Though, I am a little nervous in finding another opponent as dedicated, skilled and reliable as Mike (wargmr).

The night ....

Allies move heavily on Port Blair...

I expect the Allied Carriers are one hex north of Port Blair...

7 troops lost here...

An incredibly long fight...

IJN torpedoes expended, some at very close range and all miss...

LA fire bombed and swept...

Small strikes hit the landings at Port Blair...

all to minimal effect.

Japanese ships in precarious positions and are savaged in the afternoon.

Even worse...their artillery is effective.

IJN bombard San Diego during the daytime...to generally poor results.

The presence of the 31st Regt at San Diego is disheartening. Means most likely he is flying in troops and I am not intercepting the transports...

On the positive side I think 3 P51b Mustang factories were destroyed.

Hmm., not doing too well here.

Well, I was hoping to sneak behind the Allies lines with the cruiser raid here...

and there was some good targets, but just didn't make it.

Teach me to try and nibble at the Allied Navy concentrated like that.

Two divisions, parts of basically, have landed at Port Blair.

Every Allied carrier is behind Port Blair with more troops and ships.

Four Cruiser squadrons are at Port Blair.

I wish I had one of those US Tank divisions to use against FatR in my game...drop it in china and turn it loose.

Hey, Big.

I looked a long time ago, and I believe those Patton led Armor units are white restricted.

Yep, it will be very hard to get through that. In fact if the forts are high then unfortunately you won't.

I would just try to bleed him a little bit and rack up the points whilst commencing planning the withdrawal.

Even a deliberate attack can be dangerous now, because if your forces get too weak or disrupted then he will come rolling over the top.

A fantastic effort to get even this close in 43.

Thanks NJP...

This was always a shot in the dark...terribly disappointed to see all those divisions there in San Diego.

Oh, well, that is how the cookie crumbles for Japan.

I might be able to get San Diego...if my ships can bombard better and there is a shortage of supply there.

Fat chance.
