If aborted, to Kuala Lumpur please.

Damage rolls of Axis 4 abort the CA to Kuala Lumpur and Allied 10 1/2 abort.

Cape Naturaliste: Searches Allied 7, Axis 1. Only Axis successful. Include 0-box only?

It is indeed. With Axis losses at NE, I use all 9 points to increase damage. The Jap CA's pull off a useful victory.

The CA aborts to Kuala Lumpur, dodging the Allied CA's in the Bay of Bengal with an 8 on the interception roll. CL to Bangkok.

Gulf of Alaska: Searches Allied 8, Axis 1. Just the CP or do the Axis wish to put a dent in US CA/CL's?

Not sure about that.

If both boxes are chosen, the Japs have 6 points to spend. The unadjusted results are Allied D, Axis D, 2A. All points could be used to reduce Jap losses to NE or 4 points to an A. If the latter is chosen, the 2 other points increase Allied damage to D, 3A. Other combinations are Axis D, Allied 2D, 3A; Axis D, 2A, Allies X, 3A.

If just the 0-box is chosen, the CP sinks.

re: USSR convoys - surprisingly difficult to set up, for me. I finally settled for one each Black, Baltic, Arctic. Then build 2 or 4 in the Caspian, despite Centuur's great point about the preciousness of USSR Build Points. I have even built a USSR NAV-2 on occasion...

People without a lot of WiF experience sometimes seem incredulous when I tell them this, but the USSR is weak to the point that there will frequently be Axis troops on the shore of the Caspian, and the critical rail link in that area is usually in jeopardy in many games. Perhaps if that rail link never is put in jeopardy, that indicates an eventual Axis loss even.

I choose only 0 box and sink CP. Japs abort to... Can they abort to Midway? If not, then to Tokyo.

Polynesia is declined.

Christmas Is: US adds 2 Navs to the 2-box. I decline the Jap sub. Searches Allied 10, Axis 5. Axis successful. Hit and run on the CP's?

Based upon E-mail, CP's only it is. With surprise points allocated to increasing damage, both CP's are destroyed. Do the Japs wish to fight or flight (and where?).

The CV and CL abort to Kwajalein. The sub stays put.

Italian Coast: I presume Mayhemizer will want a bash and disorganise the Italian Ftr. CW declines subs. Searches Axis 4, Allied 8. The CP bites the dust. Both sides stay but the Allies decline to commit subs, so the combat ends.

Another disappointing naval round.

RAF send their new Lancasters to bomb Dusseldorf, escorted by Beaufighters. Germans can intercept with a 3 point Bf-109 C. Does it fly?

The '109's make short work of the escorting fighters, forcing the bombers to make a run for it.

UK rails an Inf to Chittagong.

Soviets rail 2 Infs from Manchuria towards the West.

They do what they can with their dwindling forces in the south.

CW takes Addis Ababa and continues the advance in Eritrea.

Chinese Nationalists continue heading south. The Communists form up around Mao in Manchuria.

CW swaps a couple of Spitfires around. USSR rebases 2 Lnd towards the Urals.

No reorgs.

Brian: Cutting that rail line may not happen in a '42 Barb. A '42 Barb is a valid Axis strategy. If the Germans cant make it there in a '41 Barb, I agree.

S/O 41 Axis 7

No DoW

Germany land, Italy and Japan combined.

Italy sends remaining ships (3x BB and a CL) to West Med box 4.

Japanese Transporter to South China Sea box 0 loaded with MIL from Manila.

Japanese CA enters Bay of Bengal (it can move 1 more sea area). Do CW want to intercept?
