By the by, I have 10,000 PPs in the bank because I don't and never did need them in the game. "Taking away" my 25% purchases wouldn't change that. Almost all of the purchases were done after the magical Japanese amphib bonus happy time as well - after the fall on Chungking well into 1943. Maybe next time don't make so many assssumptions. Have a nice trip to Green Button National Park, may you stay in clown paradise forever.

As for serious wargamers being uncommon...

1) You need to get out more. It's only becoming more common and more "out" - you can tell people tou play strategy games in your spare time now. Even 10 years ago you couldn't.

2) I could just as easily classify anyone who plays "fluffy" or historically or in any kind of self-limited way as a casual, not a serious, wargamer. You play for the atmosphere, not for the game. That's not playing. That's roleplaying. You may as well LARP the entire Pacific war.

I love WitP drama.

edit: That being said, I'm in Lokasenna and Bullwinkle's camp on this issue.

My I feel silly. I started reading this thread and saw folks crapping on people who've been posting their AARS. People that I've learned a lot from following their exploits - along with some of the players here. And when some of the forumites climbed up on their horse I just dove in.

My hat is off to you RRoberson - you trolled me good. Normally I'm bright enough to not bite on a troll-thread but I sank my teeth into this one. I hate troll; it tastes bad.

Your first post wasn't a question - you weren't seeking information on where the fun was. You were copping a fit over someone assigning a unit to an Air-HQ. A few other players tried to point out that, at least in their opinions, there wasn't really a foul. And then a few of you dropped some crap-talk and climbed up on a horse with that 'well-I-won't-be-playing-those-guys' stuff.

What was it Steve said in post 110? "… One player raised a serious issue of great concern…" Sigh. This thread isn't an issue - it was a troll-post.

So much for asking people to behave. This one is locked.
