I've beaten the first scenario, opening moves, but I have tried the 2nd a few times and failed so far.

My question is: One of the assigned escort ships, I forget the name, but it is not the Leander and not the Plymouth, the third one, I think it's name starts with an 'M'.

Anyway, I noticed that all that ship has under armament are decoys. Is this a bug? what good is a ship that has no offensive or defenseive weapons, only decoys. I just don't see how this ship can be useful.

Is this a bug? Is this ship supposed to have weapons other than decoys?

Also, are there supposed to be war report videos in-between scenarios? I thought there was supposed to be, and there was none when I finished the first scenario and went into the second.

Hi the ship is HMS Matapan she was a sonar trials ship in the 1970s, she was in reserve from build in the 1940s then modified as a trials ship, on the VT its not between all the scenarios

Come on! That's really in your post.

The devs deserve a better description than that, not to mention the info you seek is easily searchable.

Unarmed sensor platforms are very important

Thanks, I finally just beat the scenario, with no losses thankfully, but with a massive amount of sonar bouoys and air dropped torpedoes

That ship didn't help much though

Hi sorry that the Matapan didnt help you much, she was converted from reserve to a sonar trials ship with the Type 2016 Active/Passive Sonar which was a fantastic piece of kit, even though unarmed in real life, I gave her for the scenario 20mm guns and chaff launchers to give some self defence as you would press anything into service in a war situation

Yeah I read that when I looked up the ship online. You say you gave her 20mm guns, where were they? all it had were the decoys. Those 20mms could have come in handy with taking out some of those Soviet intelligence ships.

But even with it's sonar, I was reluctant to send it forward for fear of losing it, as my ships have not been defending themselves too well.

But I understand that, it was an interesting choice setting this campaign in 1975, when AShM were on the rise but effective defense against AShM were still in their early stages, and were some ways off, as the Falklands War showed.
