cpt, even though the cavalry divisions still cost 20 ap each, you should get about 15 new divisions built. You need them as cavalry corps for any serious winter offensive.

It doesn't look like he has the 325 APs needed (inc. cost of making the divisions into corps) for them to be built in time to be much use in this winter. Even if he had the APs, I doubt he has the arms points to spare.

Volkhov Front arrives next turn to push him near 500 AP. Yes, arms would be an issue but better to start sooner than later.

With the Moscow bulge there was not enough infantry divisions to cover front lines, so a tough winter awaited the panzer boys. Besides, manpower is most important factor in preserving army strength, and butchered infantry divisions "cost" more men lost than units with more hardware, which can always be replaced once the production ramps up...

also after your success in the autmn, cpt flam must have a finite set of resources ... and you most definitely have something worth defending?

Orders from Wolfsschanze: not one step back!

The idea is not to abandon any territory and hard-built forts, but seal any gaps that will appear with help from units remaining in their undamaged forts. Victorious counterattacks will be used to slow down morale decrease by giving me some of it back after winning.

edit: the problem is that in areas captured at the end of November (near Rzhev, Kaluga and Tula) there was no time to build forts...

With troops NE of Tula in disarray (no fort, clear terrain) it was too hard to hold the city. I knew I will have no time to fortify enough to keep the city, but the goal of November's attack was to destroy factories, so the operation was a success, despite that withdrawal.

28 guards in '41??? It's supposed to be maxed at 5% but I don't believe for a second that you have 500+ RD's! What gives? Ordinal number of destroyed guards not being reused?

Ginger- I believe with mild winter the Soviets get a higher guards % to help make up for much tougher Germans in the first winter.

I dont know what the higher % is but thats my understanding.

@chaos45: No, mild winter lowers the requirement for promotion or rather gives bonus to the roll. Or should, that is. As should playing with combat bonus: NONE (no +1).

@cpt flam: How many guards RD do you have on map in the last turn of '41, T28?
