Incredibly, the IJN is once again able to surprise the USN and isolate what's left of the USN amphibious task force. Looks like a continuation of the slaughter by the IJN of this task force.

The lone IJN bomber that got through is forced to abort by USN AA fire. USN carrier planes, however, are able to get through the IJN AA fire, sinking the Kaga and the battleship Kirishima. Aloso, the carrier Akagi is forced to abort.

Both sides unwilling to concede the Battle of China Sea stand around.

The IJN is able to end the battle by not aborting (i.e., they get enough surprise points to avoid combat).

This ends the Battle of the China Sea with both sides claiming a costly victory.

Not bad. Four strategic bombing raids and 4 German PP's lost. At a production multiplier of 1.75, that's 7 BP's lost.

Post movement. No land combat.

Note that the allies capture the port La Havre, which is east of the Seine, without a land combat. The Royal Marine Engineering division conducted a quick amphibious raid to capture the undefended port. Then, the USA disembarked two unit and rebased a fighter unit to the port captured and held by the Royal Marine.
