Don't get me wrong. I find the game most enjoyable but wonder how the air game is used/needed. Playing as the German I have yet to do much with my air units. I have used them a few times for supply drops and recon, but my bombers get no action and am unsure if my fighters do anything. The few times I attempted unit bombing missions my bomber and their escort squadrons would do one of two things: 1. No real damage occurs or 2. The ENTIRE russian airforce intercepts them. Again love the game but wonder if the air war either needs to be improved or removed.

DC Barbarossa is my next purchase. Is the air war a factor in that game?

The air war is handled very differently in Barbarossa.

It's much more abstract so as not to detract from the game's main focus.
