the next 3 panels I bitched and moaned about low german retreat casualties where retreat had to pass through zoc and massive artilary.

Final

Rivers are not frozen for few turns. Thus I am not yet concerned with big break out

Moscow area

It was about now that I realized silly will be attempting to cut my rr to all troops lower to Moscow.

I thus have been building inf corp and making this spot near the rr a strong point to keep the rr out of Nazi zoc.

I also now plan on retreating out of lower left area as VC 290 means he has to take Gorki TO WIN.

I hope, again, that this time I am not too late getting troop out.

599 tank attack and minimal losses for germans in the open without d fortification. Thru a zoc.

Only 130 casualties. Give me a break!!!!

Here was a nice push back counter attack.

Here I am worried that river will soon freeze. He has clear avenue west of Penza.

Also I have been trying to keep germans out of the middle area East of Penza and keep that east/west rr line open to Penza.

Rivers freeze next turn. I do best to put up decent line west of Penza but one square has no forts.

Here I show D values at end of the turn.

Here the german intention is clear. To cut the rr line running from Moscow to Ryazan.

IT MUST BE KEPT OPEN. signed. your pal Stalin.

Here the Germans get a very favorable reduction in D cv.

I counter attack the tip of the spear.

With new corp being built, I think I can hold off this all Infantry German attacks.

I will attempt to cut off his spearhead which broke free west of Penza. Much greater than I thought would occur.

Issue of rr cut off is now paramount.

I bring in these units for the crucial attack.

Here is the lineup.

If this succeeds I will attack from the west side to finish the cut off. --- Not a guarantee of victory though.

This loss forced a retreat in some good order.

the lower left ALL needs to be evacuated. I have about 45,000 rr capacity a turn.

And who knows how long lines(2 atm) will remain open.

I am shifting troops west from kubashev area as pressure East has abated.

290 vc means, I think, that even with me giving up 3 the small urban cities lower west, he still need to take Gorki

With Heavy snow blizzard conditions, he will not be able to shift axis of his main attack.

thus I will attempt new line much further north of the break thru with troops that are evacuated.

All rr movement from the Urals have been suspended pending the 'dunkirk' plan.

I am ok just above Penza with troops that shifted west.

I have been doing poor job getting supplies to partisans.

What is the best night distance supply plane for the Russians? or best two?

I will lose access to the port soon as his mountain troops have arrived. They will be unstoppable.

I contemplate a full escape from this area and head North East

For once I am confident I should be able to hold the line just west of the north - south rr line.

and should cause some real German casualties. All new Corp are being formed here with veteran troops.
