Final far right.

I think I will have a few captives next turn.

I will have to keep this up until he returns armor back to the area.

Plus I am now fleeing the lower port area as port is taken.

Final middle.

The blob retreat troops must all get out.

He might now go north, or north east or may rest his tank one turn as they had very long mp's this turn.

I will retreat to forest/swamp line east of moscow and start planning defense of Gorki

So Is Guriev port a supply source?

I do not own Baku!

Do I still defend Guriev port(troops will be supplied as a source point) or will the troops just melt away from lack of supply.

My western troops in photo need to know which way to go.

while i'm at it when can I expect the ss elite german divisions to return?
I just saw they returned in Selteck's battle with Pelton. They must be getting close in my game

Dates would be appreciated.

I fear Silly will take a few turns to relax and then attempt new breakthru area to capture more troops.
Northwest front with its bulge may be a concern. A few turns plus new ss tanks and he can have a large enough force to do the damage.

I think guriev is a supply source because i discovered that i can railout industries even from an encercled guriev with no connection to baku or others part of soviet union.

But you hold Baku

I do not hold Baku. Thus maybe different condition.

And wow----you were able to rr out industry to the Urals from Guriev? even though rr line was cut?

Yes it is working. No problem.
It is working also for industries from caucasus, even if the only connection to railroad is baku.

I think you can always send industries if you can reach a supply source.

That's why i think guriev is a supply source. But i'am not 100% sûre of course.

I can confirm that evac oddity. I just managed to evacuate industry from mariupol even if the rail connection was severed as it had sea connection still open...

This attack displaced the 16th army hq and a inf corp hq.

Move is now ongoing. I will attempt to surround the hill hex which has that strong German mountain unit

Hot off the press.

Middle final with D #'s and fort levels.

He will need to slog thru to go straight north.

I don't understand why you're running around with single cavalry divisions instead of integrating them into corps.

- been busy making infantry corp.
Plus if cav corp upgrades in feb 43 to tank 70 I will be in very severe truck shortage

- Also, I had merged a number of cav in the past few months plus I had many return from the kill pile.
And many were guard cav and they get priority for replacements.

-Most cav div are not in far north so maybe it just looks like more than normal.

On the flip side they only cost 5 ap to merge once 1943 arrives.

Sorry, you lost me there. They only ever cost 5 to merge.

In all honesty if you hadn't committed a number of tank corps in suicidal supply raids, you might have the trucks to be in a much better position now offensively.

Oh I thought they cost 10 1942 and earlier. I must be punch drunk.

And yes i've used the suicide tank tactic. I may have invented the move

whats interesting to me is I think based on the map I'm looking at the Germans are about done. So the soviets lost pretty much everything of importance and will now be able to start clawing back lol. Now I doubt the Soviets can "win" but the fact they didnt lose and most likely wont is interesting.

Because as the soviets lose all the south they dont have to worry about defending it effectively shortening their lines and making the north unbreakable by the Germans lol.

Getting into forest territory with tanks wont help him.

Although He does have those ss tank divisions arriving and I mean real soon.

And Snow will also greatly increase his mobility versus the blizzard slog.

He still has the initiative.
