Ouch! That'll hurt. Where's Manstein!!! :)

The Southern pocket looks to be lost, probably not even worth the risk of trying to rescue it unless Silly has substantial armor reserves that I'm not seeing.
Not sure about the Northern pocket. Even if they are rescued they still might get swept up next week along with the rescue party.
Either way it looks like the battle of Saratov will mark the turning point and Silly will have to abandon his hold fast strategy.

pounding fist on table.

Is it possible that Silly, worrying about numbers, forgot about tactics?

I’m very disappointed because I would have liked to seen how close to Berlin you got given this position .. I say no matter how borked things are .. the systlem enables Berlin in 1945 if the German and Soviet sticks it out..

Russians probable would get to the old border if Silly retreated carefully up north. I would have very long rr lines.

Down south he would also evacuate, and those rr's would not be up and running for a year.

he should retreat immediately 500 miles west and get all his remaining troops out of Dodge.

And then prepare for one careful counterattack against a spear head which might get to far ahead.

If there is willing, and someone interested, there is always the possibility of SF offering up the password to someone wanting to continue the game?

Is this possible with server games? For the sever login is the same as the matrix account login IIRC, something you don't share that easily?
Thank you for this great AAR brianG, a very intense game with dramatic struggles across the whole map.

Good point actually. More an idea generally for PBEM games then rather than this one then!

Sillyflower has returned from the missing in action list and promptly declared this war over!

Or was he just released from some cruel French/German/Russian labor camp. I just can't imagine what the Brits had to give up in return for this prisoner of war swap.

Game no longer shows on my active list.

Very sad and fond memories.
