ORIGINAL: kylania Another great benefit of steam is not having to worry about how to patch or add content. This day one patch and the the bonus scenarios would simply be part of the game instead of zip files that you have to explain to people how to find, extract and overwrite files with. Instead of having to worry about keeping track of the install files, and the key and the patch zips and all the mods and what order to install them, you'd just add Workshop support and players would subscribe and again, it would just all work. From a user perspective every game should be a Steam game. I rarely due this but: The above says it all and is "quoted for truth"! A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away I used to be a STEAM HATER. Not now and not for a very long time. Why the change. Read the quoted post above and the reason becomes apparent. I've got well over a 100 disc based games sitting on my desk next to me and it's equal bought on STEAM. The last game I bought on disc was Civ V when it came out. It was just a steam link. Man was I pissed off. I called the publisher support and raised major hell. No use of course so I reluctantly signed up for steam and got Civ 5. I've not bought a disc based game since. Digital all the way: STEAM, Matrix, Amazon, Origin, Gog, Stardock and Gamespot all get my business. STEAM gets most of it and Matrix is 2nd. Given the option I'll go with STEAM every time - even over Matrix if it's available at both for the reasons stated in the quoted text. FWIW I think the TOH devs should reconsider their decision.
